I really don't like going fast, i guess I'm not Pomalo for no reason. Today i proved it again by enjoying totally a half day on the trail, and sleeping in a real refuge
I thought i could go for the 37 km, but apparently the HT doesn't let me and throws at me many interesting people that seriously stop my attempts! And i won't complain :D
Today i enjoyed a bed a little longer than usual, as it was a real bed, and I almost lost my camera which forced me to run back a kilometer or two on the trail. Could have been worse!
Not much to say, i finally rested in a camping spot, took a shower, cleaned my clothes before staining them again 30 min after, and got hosted in a couchsurf place! Good day really :)
Longest day yet! 26 km with many mistakes, a will to cover a lot of ground but too many temptations on the way got the best of me. I still managed to reach my goal but beyond tiredness. My feet are amazing in the morning, destroyed at night. And i had a pizza. And. A. Shower!
After a lovely day of walking, a beer with Gerald, here i am minding my own business when a pheasant attacked! I fought for my life and managed to keep the territory, but I'm afraid he will want vengeance tonight
Trying to forget my own smell and my feet turning into bloody mess, i continue on the Vosges to more mountainous terrain! Got some passive aggressive trail magic and helped a lost older hiker with whom I bivouac at night. And this guy is impressive
As the hills turn into mountains, the steep terrain makes my body overheat, and my brain being enclosed on it i overthink. And this up and down physically can be felt mentally. Anyway this was recorded from a gorgeous little refuge on the mountains of Les Vosges, with a chimney!

About In a tent with a French man : A daily thru hiking journal
From the publisher's feed
Hi, I'm Cartapouille, a bored french guy who has co-created and hiked the HexaTrek, 3000km to cross France through the mountains in 2022. I previously thru hiked the Via Adriatica in 2020. I also finished a small hike on the French Pyrenees following the GR10 for 150km. Each hike is a separate podcast season here.
Season 1 : Via Adriatica, Season 2: GR10, Season 3 : HexaTrek. Season 4: TransCaucasian Trail scouting
This is a daily short log to reassure my friends and family that I didn't die eaten by a bear or got blown up by a landmine.
