Spiritual battle is exhausting and we’re often tempted to let our guard down. As Pastor JD examines chapter 20 of 1st Kings, we see a human example of the spiritual enemy we face in the Devil. Ben-Hadad was unrelenting in his determination to conquer the people of Israel. But Israel trusted in God and did not let their guard down, and God gave them victory.

In today’s message, Pastor JD challenges us to search our hearts and lives for areas that we are compromising on our faith. If we give the enemy an inch, he’s going to take a mile. This might seem an impossible expectation that God has for us, but He gave His Son to redeem us from our imperfection and be made uncompromisingly Holy in His sight.

One of the things that is front and center in the media right now is the awful plight of the refugees. And while we most certainly should love our neighbors as ourselves...Pastor JD brings some balance to what the talking heads are presenting in regards to the issue. We need to carefully screen those entering our country who are professing Muslims. Why? Because the very tenants of the Islamic faith declare death and destruction.

Today Pastor JD shares with us the amazing turn of events with our newly inaugurated President, Donald Trump...he's actually doing the things that he said he would during his campaign...a novel practice among politicians. Today we'll consider some of these executive actions and how they will impact us here in the United States.

Elijah felt lost and dejected. Oddly, we should take heart in that. If this titan of the Bible, who witnessed major miracles, can fall into discouragement, then so can we! The lesson from Pastor JD is that we don't stay in the discouragement. We seek the Lord, even in the small stuff. He is ALWAYS there for us, even if we aren't immediately seeing Him.

Are there times when you feel like being alone, so you figure you'll skip a fellowship meeting? Pastor JD encourages us to get into fellowship, ESPECIALLY when we feel like being alone. Satan wants you to start skipping fellowship. That is when he can do some real damage to your thought life. Stay with the fold, your survival depends on it!

Satan will lie in wait for you. He will be patient, watching for when you're most vulnerable. Once you are, he will pounce on you with discouragement and doubt. Pastor JD reminds us to keep our eyes on the prize. The bigger picture will help us to realize that this moment of pain is actually just temporary, light affliction.

Have you ever been pulled over for speeding? Pastor JD tells us a humorous story about being pulled over, and how it relates to our attitude. If we're sorry just for being caught for something, there won't be an attitude change. If we are truly sorry that we actually did it, then there is a Godly sorrow, which leads to growth in the Lord.

Pastor JD highlights a growing problem in the Body of Christ. It seems that many do not know the Bible as well as they should. They may have friends and co-workers who believe in the false gods of other religions and they do not know where to turn in their Bibles to refute it. As followers of Christ in this day and age, we need to KNOW our Bibles!

President Donald Trump has done some fairly amazing things in only the first few weeks of his presidency. One of the things that Pastor JD will point out today is the support that President Trump is promising to Christians. This is absolutely unheard of. Prior administrations have done everything that could to repress the Christian faith in our culture.
