Well this was certainly an interesting potato chip week. Great Lakes Potato Chip Co. kicked things off with their Pickled Jalapeño. Followed by Crown’s Corn Chips from South Korea. And finally rounded out with Hawaiian Brand’s Way Out Wasabi. And I think each is going to do pretty well when I put them to the Tayto Cheese & Onion Crisp Sandwich challenge.

Ah, Hawaiian Brand. Sometimes their potato chips nail a flavor, other times not so much. Today we’re going to try out their wasabi flavored chips. And as per usual with most thing “wasabi” flavored, it uses horseradish. But I say who cares as long as it tastes good, right?

Sure, you can’t technically make a chip off of a kernel of corn that would be big enough to enjoy as a snack. But you sure can mash em up and form chips. Which is exactly what Crown from South Korea has done. Question is, are they too sweet like other corn chips? Let us be the ones who find out.

Yes, we’re back with another Great Lakes potato chip - Pickled Jalapeño. This is a brilliant idea for a potato chip flavor imho. Pickley goodness along with jalapeño heat? Yes please! Big ups to Sara for sending them in.

Well, this week should be interesting. The potato chips I reviewed Monday, while not terribly crispy, had a decent flavor going on with the seaweed, salmon, and teriyaki flavor. Calbee’s Onion Soup potato chips were fine but didn’t have much onion flavor. And Philong’s Hot and Spicy Crispy Salmon Skin was, well, interesting if not too rich. Let’s do it, to it!

Every once in a while I like to stray from the chip path to try snacks that are like cousins to chips. Like these here Hot & Spicy Crispy Salmon Skins from Philong over in Vietnam. I love crispy salmons skin when it’s cooked on a grill or in a pa. But deep frying is whole different kettle of fish. See what I did there? (sorry).

What? An American flag on Japanese chip maker Calbee’s post? Yep, because these chips are, in fact, made for the American market. Now, the flavor says Onion Soup but much to my surprise, they don’t mean French Onion Soup.

It is interesting to salmon teriyaki take a back seat to seaweed in a flavor yet that is exactly what Tasto of Thailand has done. Oh well, I love all three flavors so I’m sure these potato chips will be tasty

Back again with Can It Sandwich? The program where I ask the hard-hitting question…well, I mean…maybe not hard-hitting but still…can it sandwich? This week we try out Lay’s Taiwan Beef Noodle flavor potato chips, Rap Snacks Romeo Miller Bar-B-Quin’ with my Honey potato chips, and Vitlök, Gräslök & Chili potato chips from Sweden! Should be fun!

Not gonna lie, I had to guess what “Vitlök” and “Gräslök” meant but thanks to the pics on the bag, I think I got it. Anyway tasted real potatoes with skin on? It’s theirs to loose
