You could call our guest this morning "the chicken lady," since she's written 4 books about chickens... the latest being 101 Chicken Keeping Hacks!   Some of those she shared with us: things ranging from what and when to feed to how to keep and even chicken first aid!

Hour #2 starts out promptly at 9:00 with Edie Tanem running down her list of gardening events of interest around the bay; then it's right back to our busy phone banks with America's Happy Gardener, Bob Tanem!

Edie Tanem starts us off with another edition of Stuff to Do for Bay Area Gardeners; then we go back to the phones and answer lots of gardening questions with America's Happy Gardener, Bob Tanem.

Our guest this norning was 3rd grader Chase Tienken, winner of this years' Bonnie Plants Giant Cabbage growing contest in the state of California; each year Bonnie Plants sponsors competitive grows in 3rd grade classrooms free of charge in each of the 50 states, choosing a winner in each state!

Our guest was Debra Lee Baldwin, expert on succulents; our topic: how to prepare your succulents to surivive / thive this winter!  Debra is enthused about her topic, and has 3 books to prove it, including the 2nd edition of her very successful and comprehensive Designing With Succulents on Timber press.

Our hour starts out with Edie Tanem and the current, Thanksgiving edition of What To Do Around the Bay Area for Gardeners; then it's right back to the phones, and America's Happy Gardener on KSFO!

Our guest was the inimitable Lance Walheim, citrus expert and fairly regular guest on this program.   Lance discussed winter prep and pruning, proper feeding and care of your potted vs. in-the-ground citrust trees, and an update on HLB, the citrus disease threatening all citrus growth in this state.

Our guest at 8:30 this morning was Megan O'Connell, an expert on bulbs: she had lots of ideas for not just tulips, but a plethora of bulbs, in the ground or in pots, planted "lasagna" style in containers.  Now is the time to be planting these in California, and if you need some ideas Megan has you covered!
