In the Hunt: Miami Dolphins

Wonder Fins are back, the Fins have reeled off two straight games, can they make it three against the Bills? Topher dives into the fact that it's a great thing that the Fins can take advantage of a Colts team starting their backup QB and sneak out a victory. Jake comes to grips that Ryan Fitzpatrick is the dad of the Dolphins. He puts bubble gum on his helmet, rocks the giant beard most of all, had eight TD and eight INTS. The show is finished off with the Fins now being labeled the team NFL teams do not want play at the end of the year and how Flores and staff are doing more with less. The last segment, Jake and Topher go through the list of players traded or signed as free agents with other teams. The ones that stuck out were Ryan Tannehill, Robert Quinn, and Kenny Stills.

Topher starts the daily hunt with the Fins front office attending the LSU/ Bama game only to see their team lose sight of the prize... Tua. A couple of topics Topher hits on are the Fins/ Colts recap, Minkah Fitzpatrick playing like an MVP for the Steelers, the media's hypocritical views on the Fins tanking/ winning. To finish the hunt, the Fins need to keep their treasure chest of picks.

Beautiful weekend in Florida! Jake and Topher start the show on the state of the Fins. The players are more grounded and a foundation is being laid, most of all the players and coaches needed to beat the Jets. Topher opens up about his love affair with Mike Gesicki and what it means for the Fins and his progress. Being 1-7 is going to be full of disappointing players, the guys discuss the top disappointments on both sides of the ball. Some are due to injury others are due to just being completely awful. Finishing off the show, they guys preview tomorrow's game against the Colts and Jake predicts a Colts blowout but if the Fins win, he will be running to tweet up a storm convincing the masses that they'll be in the hunt!

After a few weeks off Jake is back and joined by his good friend Houtz to catch up on all the news he hasn't had the opportunity to talk about of late. The guys question why Brian Flores would back Josh Rosen just to pull him two quarters later. Is it possible DeVante Parker is finally turning into a stud? As Mark Walton fans since day one, Jake and Houtz take a victory lap and look at what could be next for Kenyan Drake. The week comes to a close with tanking talk and a tweet that describes Miami's draft issues of late.

Topher is joined by Travis Wingfield (@WingfieldNFL) to discuss the Kenyan Drake rumors. Both guys acknowledge that he will be moved but are surprised at the usage rate of the other running backs on the roster. Ryan Fitzpatrick is named the start and Travis sides with the "Ewing Theory". The Fins got an adrenaline shot with Fitzpatrick and now the team and players in the building feel confident with him under center. Topher asks Travis what he thinks of the Rams and teams who player in the Super Bowl and the closing of their "window". To finish off the show, Travis gives us the offense and defense fits for this coaching staff, he drops a Preston Williams nugget...FINS UP

Topher is joined by Sutton (ASuttonPFN). The guys, for the most part, have a discussion on the future of the Fins. The Fins have a few bright spots but for the most part, nothing else matters. Sutton expects another churning of the roster and some young guys will be part of that churning. But enough with that, FOOTBALL IS BACK! The Fins are back with from the bye and they play the Washington National Football team. Topher thinks this the game the Fins pullout while Sutton thinks its another loss. Lately, there have been 1 billion mock drafts, and the guys discuss the most recent one by Matt Miller of Bleacher Report. To finish off the hunt, Topher and Aaron dive into the think pieces of the Fins, should the tank be respected? And the perception of tanking by the Fins compared to an alternate universe where the Pats tank and it is loved by all.

Jake and Topher come to the realization that the Miami Dolphins are a TV show with historically bad writing and are bound to turn the show around within the next two years. Anti-tankers are the Anti-vaxxers of the NFL. The guys come to an agreement that the Dolphins traded the rights of being IN THE HUNT to the Steelers. Jake and Topher lay into the Dolphins media and tell them they need to chill and have fun, enjoy the chaos. A short little preview... Cowboys in a route.

In this installment of the bookclub Josh Houtz and Jake Mendel start the day by facing the facts on how horrible the Dolphins offense was. They go player-by-player in solving these questions: What happened to all the Kenyan Drake hype? Why give Jakeem Grant a contract extension to throw him the ball three times? Should DeVante Parker be hyped about one catch? What is Fitzpatrick thinking on his interception? and much more!
