In The Loop

In The Loop kicks off the show reacting to last night’s NFL season opener between the Seahawks and Patriots, where Seattle rallied from a 10-point deficit to beat New England 13-10. The crew gets into what stood out from the first game of the season, including Seattle finding a way to win despite losing Sam Darnold early and Drake Maye throwing three fourth-quarter interceptions. Then John Lopez attempts to put together his list of the 25 greatest Texans players of all time, which leads to plenty of debate about who belongs, who doesn’t and where everyone should rank. The hour wraps with today’s Question of the Day: What’s a recurring nightmare you have?

In The Loop goes Around The NFL to hit the biggest stories and headlines from across the league. Then the guys turn their attention to the Astros’ 11-7 loss to the Phillies, including an interesting moment on the mound when Hunter Brown appeared visibly frustrated after a series of ground balls found holes in the Astros’ defense. Was Brown simply frustrated with some bad luck, or was there more behind his reaction? The hour wraps with What’s Popping, covering the biggest stories in sports and entertainment.

In The Loop looks ahead to the Texans’ Week 1 matchup against the Buffalo Bills and asks how useful last season’s Week 12 meeting really is when preparing for Sunday. Houston won that game 23-19 and got after Josh Allen with eight sacks, but both teams enter this matchup with changes from a year ago. Then it’s time for Lunch-Time Confessions, where Lopez admits he loves all the wild Week 1 NFL overreactions. The hour wraps with OG Buy or Sell, as John Lopez decides which takes he’s buying and which ones he’s selling.

In The Loop goes Behind Enemy Lines ahead of Texans-Bills as WGR Bills reporter Sal Capaccio joins the show to give the Buffalo perspective on the Week 1 matchup. Then Figgy’s Mixtape takes over with another collection of stories from the wild side of the internet, including someone warning that AI is eventually going to kill us all, the crew debating whether they could live and work in a lighthouse, and more.

Figgy’s Mixtape gets weird as the crew reacts to a warning about the future of AI, asks whether they could actually live and work inside a lighthouse, and gets into more bizarre stories.

Lopez admits that one of his favorite parts of the start of the NFL season is watching everyone overreact after a single game.

Can the Texans take anything meaningful from their Week 12 win over Buffalo last season, or have the Bills changed enough that Houston needs to throw most of that tape out?

The Astros fall to the Phillies, and ITL reacts to Hunter Brown's frustration on the mound as several softly hit ground balls find their way through the defense during Philadelphia’s rally.

ITL goes around the league and reacts to the biggest NFL stories of the day.

From falling and being chased to showing up somewhere completely unprepared, ITL asks listeners about the nightmare that somehow keeps coming back.
