Paulla then tells the story of “Siquan” or the time of spring, and also the gift of the strawberry, which is about the spring planting season, and how two native children, a brother and a sister experienced animals and nature.

"August Meeting" is episode 3 from our latest video series "Gifts of Inspiration" featured on our Indigenous Artways video podcast. Through this series, renowned Narragansett author and Storyteller, Paulla Dove Jennings recites experiences from her own life through stories which teach life lessons. She weaves a story of a young girl's experience at the oldest recorded pow wow in the United States known as August Meeting.
