My long term business vision is for all Māori to be land owners...again. Because I believe that along with our reo and tikanga, whenua is also an essential part of who we are. It is what makes us Indigenous in the first place. Indigeneity is a location specific adjective; you are indigenous to a place. Colonisation works most effectively when you a sever a tie to a an element of a people's sense of identity (reo, tikanga, whenua). Connection to whenua is what makes us native to this land...and this is the area that I've decided to focus my business on for the next two to three generations.
