Over the past decade, the online education industry has really taken off. Billions of dollars are spent on online courses every year. In response to this demand, thousands of experts and entrepreneurs have started creating and selling online courses to teach what they know to others. But completion rates on online courses are actually quite low, and many people that purchase online courses never get the results they were hoping for.
From our perspective, part of the problem is that people buy online courses but fail to implement what they learn. But another part of the problem is that too many entrepreneurs rush to create online courses without learning how to teach effectively, or worse, without proving that what they teach actually works when applied.
In this episode, we talk about why we chose to sell services and work with clients 1-on-1 before creating any online courses or training products (even though we love to create content and teach others), and when we think the right time for an entrepreneur to create an online course is.
