On hand was Senator Ted Cruz who almost didn't make it - after having a confrontation at an airport ticket counter. And he makes a living writing superhero comic books - but little did he know he'd become a real-life hero himself - after he stepped in to help a young girl he says was being attacked by a gang of teens.
