Inside Motor Sport -Bathurst 1000 Preview

The Bend 500 delivered a wild mix of torrential rain, strategy chaos and late race composure as Chaz Mostert and Fabian Coulthard powered Walkinshaw TWG to a landmark victory, giving Toyota its first endurance win in Supercars. Coulthard kept the Mobil 1 Optus entry upright through the monsoon like opening stints before Mostert took control on slicks, pulling clear to an 18 second triumph. Kai Allen and Tim Slade impressed with a bold run to second, while Ryan Wood and Jaxon Evans completed a fairytale 1-3 for Toyota. Will Brown and Scott Pye charged to fourth despite penalties, and Matt Payne's sixth place was enough to hand him the championship lead heading to Bathurst.
