‘The Guitar Song’ is the latest project from Jamey Johnson, and it’s a set worth the price of admission.  With two discs, the project takes fans on a journey of his life, through both the good and bad, as he wrote or co-wrote 20 of the 25 songs.  We had a chance for a rare sit-down interview with Jamey to hear about a few of his new favorite tracks.

Randy Houser’s buddies have a very special nickname for him, which is reflected in the title of his latest album.  It just seems to fit him to a ‘T’.  Randy started work on this album almost immediately after the release of his 2008 debut ‘Anything Goes.’  He’s got some hot new music in this project, including a special vocal track from Lee Ann Womack, so we made sure to sit down with him to hear all about it.

The Academy of Country Music gives out the majority of their awards each spring in Las Vegas, but there are always a handful of incredible artists that aren’t on the televised broadcast.  The ACM Honors event takes place in Nashville at the legendary Ryman Auditorium to honor those individuals, and was hosted this year by Lee Ann Womack.  Kelly Lynn headed out to the red carpet to catch up with the awardees.

As a songwriter’s son, Randy Montana quickly earned respect on Music Row, writing cuts for Montgomery Gentry and others.  Now as an artist, his self-titled debut album on Mercury Records is attracting attention with a sound that’s a little left of country’s center.  Randy practically grew up next to the stage, so it’s a natural fit for him.  Kelly Lynn caught up with him at a recent showcase here in Nashville to learn more about him.

Every 18 minutes, another man, woman or child is diagnosed with Crohn’s disease or colitis.  Cory Gierman and Jason Krupek had a friend who suffered with Crohn’s, a disease many people don’t know much about.  The two used their relationships in the music business to start a benefit concert to raise money to fight the diseases with no known cure.  They’ve managed to raise over 200-thousand dollars in the last thirteen years with their annual Buds ‘n Suds event.  Kelly Lynn headed out to catch up on all the excitement.

Ricky Skaggs has been a professional musician for almost forty years, putting out incredible bluegrass and country songs.  He’s been honored with many awards, including fourteen Grammys and CMA’s Entertainer of the Year in 1985.  With that experience and success, he’s free to put out the kind of music that means the most to him. Kelly Lynn caught up with him at his latest release party here in Nashville for ‘Mosaic.’
