What if your perfectionism isn't a personality trait, it's a survival strategy that's quietly burning you out? Therapist, yoga psychology teacher, and poet Amanda Baker joins Jojo to unravel why we strive to be "amazing," what's actually underneath the fear of being average, and how burnout is really self-betrayal in disguise.

  • The Episode I Almost Deleted: A Case Against Perfectionism

This week Jojo does something a little different. No studio, no polish, no edits. Just a mic, a patio overlooking the water, wind in the background, and yes, even a bee.

Because this episode is about the very thing that would normally make her scrap it: perfectionism.

Who told you everything has to be buttoned up before you're allowed to show up? Why does the pressure to be the perfect parent, partner, professional or version of yourself always land on the one person who never makes the list: you? And what actually happens to connection, creativity and flow when we finally stop performing and get honest about the messy middle?

Jojo gets into it mentally, emotionally and spiritually, and leaves you with one small, slightly uncomfortable challenge you can try today.

Consider this the prologue. A deeper conversation on the psychology of perfectionism, burnout and self-betrayal is coming soon with a therapist, so make sure you're following the show.

Take your shoes off, step outside, and press play.

  • Why Are We Always Late? The Psychology of Not Showing Up

We have all been on both sides of it. Waiting on someone who never showed. Or being the one who was late... again. This week Jojo scraps her original fired up take and asks a much more interesting question: why do we actually do this?

In this solo think piece, Jojo unpacks the surprising research on chronic lateness, from the planning fallacy to time blindness, and the deeper emotional roots most of us never look at: anxiety, self worth, control, perfectionism, self sabotage, old childhood wiring and people pleasing. She also shares a recent personal story about being completely no showed, and how she chose to respond with warmth and a very clear boundary.

This one is not a lecture. It is a mirror. Because the question is not just why is lateness rude. It is what is really going on underneath when we cannot seem to show up on time, or at all.

No tidy answers this week. Just a question worth sitting with: is your lateness about time, or about what you feel when you try to be on time?

Share this one with the friend who is always late. Lovingly, of course.

  • Stop Splitting Your Relationship 50/50: Two Rules From a 47 Year Marriage

What does it take to stay in love for 47 years? In this short and sweet episode, Jojo shares the relationship advice a store owner gave her, the two simple rules he swears by after nearly five decades of marriage, and why he says he falls more in love with his wife every single day.

Everyone talks about relationships, dating culture, and communication, but somewhere along the way we lost the plot on how to actually build a strong one. This conversation brought it all back to basics.

    In this episode:

    • The one number most couples get wrong about relationships
    • A tiny mindset shift that stops fights before they start
    • The popular relationship saying Jojo thinks we need to retire for good
    • How to hear feedback from your partner without your ego taking the hit

Whether you're married, dating, or working on any relationship in your life, this under 10 minute episode gives you a mindset shift you can use today.

  • Doing Well but Not Feeling Well: Why Success Still Feels Empty with Pratiqk Jaani

You can do everything "right": hit the goal, get the title, build the life that's supposed to feel good, and still feel empty. In this episode of Inside OUT, Jojo sits down with Pratiqk Jaani, an accountant turned transformation teacher and author of Dhrasti, to unpack why doing well doesn't always mean feeling well. After 20+ years advising entrepreneurs, Pratik discovered the real problem was never the money. It was the perception people were unconsciously living through. They explore how childhood conditioning creates a default state of "lack," why every new goal (or new relationship) only feeds it, and how shifting into "wholeness" changes your entire experience of life. Pratik also shares two exercises you can do at home tonight to glimpse your true self beneath the conditioning. Then we close by getting MESy: mental, emotional, and spiritual questions to sit with this week.

  • The Breakup Nobody Talks About: Why Losing Your Best Friend Hurts More Than Losing a Partner

Nobody brings you ice cream when your best friend breaks up with you. There are no rituals, no sympathy cards, no space to grieve. Yet research shows your brain processes platonic rejection through the exact same neural pathways as romantic heartbreak. So why do we pretend it hurts less?

This week on Inside OUT, Jojo gets MESy with the breakup nobody talks about. After an overwhelming response from listeners, she dives deep into why friendship endings can cut deeper than romantic ones, the real reasons friendships fall apart, how to know when it is truly time to walk away, and what to do when there is no closure. She shares her own three major friendship breakups and the hard truths she had to face about codependency, abandonment, and choosing herself.

We break it down mentally: where are you blocking honesty about where a friendship really stands? Emotionally: have you actually let yourself grieve? And spiritually: can you trust that every ending is shaping the life you are meant to lead?

If you have ever lost a friend and quietly carried that pain alone, this episode is for you. And it might be for someone you love too. Send it to them.

  • Breaking Up & Starting Over: Friendship Edition

We do not talk enough about friendship breakups. Romantic breakups get the songs, the books, the girls' night support system. Friendship loss gets a shrug and a "people grow apart."

In this solo episode, Jojo sits with what it actually means to lose a close friend, not to conflict, not to a fight, but to time, distance, and evolution. After moving away from a decade in New York and starting over in a brand new city, she is facing the hardest part of adult friendship: building connection from the ground up while grieving the people who used to feel permanent.

    Inside this episode:

Why making friends as an adult feels so much harder than it used to The difference between a friend for a reason, a season, and a lifetime How to know when a friendship has become misaligned with your season of life Why we take friendship loss personally, even when it was never really about us Processing a friendship breakup when there was no closure What it means to ask yourself not just who you want to find, but who you want to be as a friend

This is a mental, emotional, and spiritual conversation about connection, grief, and growth. If you have ever quietly wondered whether a friendship still fits your life, this one is for you.

  • Are Your Friendships Lifting You Up or Holding You Back?

"You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with." So who are yours?

This week on Inside OUT, Jojo brings back one of the very first episodes, Friendship: Toxic or Transformative, and it hits different now that the friendship at the center of it no longer exists in her life.

We get honest about the friendships that quietly shape us. The ones we outgrow. The ones that end with no explanation. And the ones worth watering for fifteen years and counting. Jojo opens up about losing a childhood best friend overnight, walking away from people she loved, and being on the receiving end of someone choosing to walk away from her.

If you have a friendship right now that feels more draining than nourishing, or one you keep quietly wondering about, this one is for you.

    Inside this episode:

    • Why one rotting raspberry can spoil the whole box (and what that means for your circle)
    • The difference between a friend you have fun with and a friend who sits in the muck with you
    • How expectations quietly kill the relationships we care about most
    • The one conversation that saved a friendship instead of ending it
    • How to take honest inventory of your five people without pointing fingers

This is your invitation to get real about who you let close. Press play.

  • WTF Is Tarot & How Do We Use It with Dina Berrin

Before you click away because you think tarot is too "out there," stay with me.

In this episode of Inside OUT, Jojo sits down with Dina Berrin, an author, certified life coach, and intuitive guide who treats tarot as a language and a map of the human experience, not a party trick or a crystal ball. If you have never touched a deck in your life, this is your grounded, no judgment way in.

Dina breaks down what tarot actually is: a deck of 78 cards split into the minor arcana and the major arcana, full of symbolism that reflects the universal human story of love, fear, growth, endings, and new beginnings. You will learn how to read the colors and images on a card, how to look for patterns in a spread, and how tarot quietly moves you from asking "is he going to call me back" to asking "what am I learning" and "what am I avoiding."

Then Jojo puts Dina on the spot for a live reading, and what comes up is so specific it is a little scary. They get into the 2026 year card, personal year cards, numerology, and the one question underneath every question people ever bring to the deck: am I going to be okay?

If you are a skeptic, an overthinker, or someone who needs it to make logical sense before you let it in, this one is for you.

    Let's Get MESy.
