We don't need to remind you of the mental health stigma endured within the South Asian Community.
If you or someone you love has been diagnosed with a mental illness, society will deem it appropriate to downplay their suffering as "being weak" or "seeking attention". Those who suffer tend to hide their pain in fear of being judged or shunned away. This can be very painful, as the illness becomes debilitating, impacting all areas of one's life.
Those who immigrate to different countries in pursuit of a better life are particularly at risk for developing such disorders. This is due to high family pressures, loneliness, change in environments, and financial constraints.
So to tackle that we invited two very special guests today - Ishaan and Sid Khobare. These two brothers faced great turbulence growing up in India, and then later moving to Canada for higher education.
Check out their story as these two hustlers set out to make a better future for themselves and their family. Their struggles akin to many young immigrants and international students - especially from South Asia.
It serves as a good reminder that no one is truly alone.
