After bouncing around from the military, where he served in Iraq, to law school, to corporate life, to tech startups, and even commercial real estate - he was searching to find his calling, and eager to do something that both inspired him and inspired others. Today, he’s largely credited as one of the major names in podcasting, hosting what is probably the most successful daily podcast in business, Entrepreneur On Fire. EOF is an award-winning podcast where he interviews inspiring Entrepreneurs who are truly ON FIRE. His podcast has over 2,400 episodes, 1 million+ listens a month, and generates 7-figures in annual revenue.

Welcome back to the second part of our very special 2-part series!

Last week, I presented my biggest takeaways from all of the interviews I held on the Inside the Greenroom podcast in 2019, and many LOVED it, and went back to listen to previous episodes as a result.

Today, I cover what’s working with stages in 2020 - both with running events, and speaking on stage.

I share the five core things that make the best events in the world stand out, as well as thefive core ways the best speakers stand out amongst the competition.

This is what is working NOW! I know the final part of our mini-series will be a gamechanger for you and set you up for a lot of success in 2020!

Here are some of the major takeaways from today’s episode:

    • A #1 factor that determines the longevity of an annual event (this is what separates those that will be around tomorrow vs. those that don’t last!)
    • What you must take inventory of and care deeply about far in advance of the event start date to provide the best experience possible
    • A phrase you should avoid when filling your event (this sets the wrong intention for your attendees, and it’s a BIG reason why meeting planners see their numbers dropping)
    • The power of a ticket map, and using it to your advantage to fill seats
    • The key to getting your audience to come back over and over again, and to rave about your event to their friends
    • The TOP ways to STOP leaving revenue on the table (one of our clients boosted his revenue from $200k to $2 million based on this!)
    • The power of gifting, and how it can set you apart as a speaker
    • How to deliver the goods on stage using a multisensory approach
    • A big LIE speakers are told (or they believe to be true) when it comes to winning stages
    • The “marketing graveyard” that’s continually expanding, and why you should use the one marketing medium that will never die

    • And much, much more!

We’re BACK with our first episode in the new year, and we’re here to bring you part 1 of a very special 2-part series!

Today’s episode will focus on our biggest takeaways from all the interviews I held on the Inside the Greenroom podcast in 2019.

Think of this as a cliff notes version of a couple dozen “ah-ha’s” we had over the past year. If you’re up to date and listened to every episode thus far, it will serve as a reminder of the big ideas we covered. If you’re brand new to the podcast, we highly encourage you to identify just 2-3 “big ideas” that stood out to you and go back to listen to the full episode. You’d be surprised with how much of a difference it can make in your business if you implement just ONE big idea you hear from one of our interviews.

Part 2 will be released next week, and I’m going to cover what’s working TODAY with events, and landing stages.

I really believe the next couple of episodes in our “mini-series” will be impactful and set you up for a lot of success in 2020!

Here are some of the major takeaways from our guests in 2019:

    • The importance of building a speaking team once a brand reaches a certain level
    • Why you should include the element of FUN into your events

Welcome, Jon Berghoff from Flourishing Leadership Institute, Inside the Greenroom!

Live events are getting more expensive to run, tickets are harder to sell, and information is becoming commoditized! In this episode, Jon shows you how to run a new type of event that gets your audience engaged throughout the entire process, and has them leave wanting to come back for more. We discuss transforming the type of event from passive to active learning, crowdsourcing wisdom from event attendees, orchestrating the event to help people connect easier, and much more!

Jon previously served as the head of sales for the direct sales team at Vitamix Corporation, where revenue grew by 400% in less than 4 years, as their team grew from 175 to over 600 members.

His work in Appreciative Leadership, Emotionally Intelligent Negotiations, and Influence has brought him to Australia, Japan, the UK, and South America. Jon is in high demand, known for his authenticity and highly engaging style of creating powerful learning experiences for participants.

We’re doing something special for this episode of Inside the Greenroom – I will NOT be interviewing a guest. You’ll be getting something that was previously NOT available to the general public or the podcast, and it has to do with the power of stages.

At the very end of 2015 when I was launching Advance Your Reach, I went through a lot of ups and downs trying to get this company off the ground. I was known as the “Stage Whisperer” and had spent 13 years helping other people build their businesses with stages…

But the ironic thing is, I was trying everything BUT stages.

    Why?

First, I was scared to speak. I had been the wizard behind the curtain helping others, and even though I knew the power, I still resisted being the guy on the stage because of fear.

Second, like so many entrepreneurs, I got distracted by all the bright, shiny, and trendy marketing mediums out there. Looking back, they were great tactics - but it was just not the right time to implement them.

Once we FINALLY implemented stages into our business, everything changed for us.

At the time of this writing, we’re right around Thanksgiving.

    I am GRATEFUL for stages.

Over the past 20 years, stages have transformed my business and life, and I know it can do the same for you.

For that reason, this episode is dedicated to the power of stages.

    Here’s what we cover:

    • Why stages are recession proof (you’ll believe this when I tell you how long they’ve been around compared to other marketing mediums)
    • Examples of famous leaders, entrepreneurs, coaches, and service providers who have used stages to grow their businesses
    • How stages can shrink the sales cycle to 60 minutes or less
    • How Karen Worstell quit her job and crossed the 6-figure mark with stages
    • Why a successful entrepreneur friend of mine would rather be on stage with 25 people than have 1 million views on a Facebook video
    • The typical conversion rate you see when making an offer on stages versus online
    • Why your niche or industry is NOT different, and why you can make stages work no matter what business you fall into
    • Dispelling the “famous myth” for those who feel you must be well-known to land your dream stages
    • The definition of a dream stage, and how it can change your business forever (as it did mine)

    • And much more!

Welcome, Michelle Norris from Paleo f(x)™, Inside the Greenroom!

Paleo f(x)™ is the world’s largest Paleo event in the world, which has been running for 8 years, with an attendance of over 8,000 at the latest event!

In this episode, we discuss key learning lessons from an “in the trenches” entrepreneur with nearly a decade of experience running her own events. We cover the 3 main revenue generating activities she found to work best with events, her pricing strategy, how to save money on logistical costs, and the best way to impact the maximum number of people.

Michelle Norris is a former corporate warrior, trained chef and multi-potentialite

whose personal health issues and struggles with traditional medical orthodoxy

inspired her to upend the way the world tackles health, wellness, and prosperity.

She soon became one of Paleo’s most outspoken evangelists, then co-founded

and is now CEO of Paleo f(x) ™, the largest Paleo event in the world. She’s a

passionate speaker, motivator and guiding light to those seeking deliverance

from a broken healthcare system and disabled economic system. Having left

the corporate grind far behind, she is now a serial entrepreneur in the health

    and wellness space, and a tireless firebrand for advancing the Paleo movement;

a cultural reawakening of self-empowerment for the 21st century.

    • One of the most important things you should be thinking about to convey to your team, and get them pumped up and motivated for your event
