Ukrainian forces have made stunning advances in the east of the country, liberating towns and cities from Russian forces in a blitzkrieg that has shattered the widely held assumption that Ukraine could never defeat the Russians. The Ukrainians are calling for more support from the West – including from Australia, with the country’s Defence Minister even tweeting a video showing his soldiers praising the Australian-made Bushmaster armoured troop carriers that were used during operations in the Kharkiv region.
