I wanted to take the time to have a reset for Fathers Day. Recently I posted episode #58 The Kids Aren't Alright. It was more than a play on an Offspring song (especially if you listen to it.) We need to have a conversation as a nation. Not about right or left. Not about taking away rights versus restoring them. We need to discuss the responsibilites of the parent versus the state. Far too many are entrusting the public school system to raise their kids. There are a multitude of reasons that isn't a good idea. A good one is it's not their job. They have no ability to focus in on teaching YOUR child the values you and your family hold dear. We need to get back to teaching our kids. Toss the participation trophys and bring back dodgeball. Sorry for the long description.

Today's episode is a bit somber but it will give you a very actionable item.  Parenting and leadership share many commonalities. When I discuss growth with clients we talk about who is the visionary and who is the implementer.  In parenting there are similar responsibilities and structure. Unfortunately many children do not have that two person structure. This leads to a cultural issue, especially in "post-modern_" America.  One of the most impactful programs in my life was a joint business and school program called DSABC. It was a mentorship program where I met my dear friend Mike Gagliardi.  Programs like this can take at risk kids and help them through the toughest developmental years of their lives. The lack of such programs has allowed some kids to fall through the gaps. In episode 57 I discuss the double edged sword that is social media. As a business owner you need to get the word out about your services but the internet can be quite a toxic place.  Today I discuss the decision I made to mute many of my groups that I am a part of eventhough there are many of my target clients inside them.  I hope this open and frank conversation allows you to do an audit of how you engage with the world and provides some perspective along the way.

In today's episode I discuss the degredation of output that comes with fatigue.  Fatigue can take an "A" level performer and revert them to the mean. Errors, poor judgement, negative attitude and more follow.  As a leader, parent, high level producer your results will trend downwards if you do not get proper rest. It may not seem like it at first, the results aren't that bad. Growth can slow sometimes.... these are signs that you may be holding on too tight.    We need to be aware of our mindset and how it can be impacted if we are to grow our legacy.

So the worldwide sensation that has been ruining lives since late 2019 finally came to our doorstep. I spent the week in isolation but everyone still got sick.  it’s a terrible thing to see your young children sick. I wanted to share the shift in mindset that is making this event not just tolerable but something that will make us stronger this directly applies to the contingency plans inside your business    as I record this on Sunday it is Mother’s Day for my awesome wife and it is my sons second birthday.  Looks like we will have to do a make up brunch in a week or two

Good morning!  As I type this it is Easter Sunday. My podcasts are not normally completed this close to launch but the week threw a curveball my way.    Our baby girl arrived a week early.  I was able to experience first hand how Intentional Parenting can create the culture and outcome you want. Take a listen as I describe the enculturation process I used with my son to create the desired response to his baby sister arriving.  The methods I used with him are similar to the work I do with business owners and leaders to firm up their organizational models.
