Today we’re joined by portfolio manager Jed Weiss who shares his thoughts on international markets and what opportunities he’s finding in today’s current market environment. Jed manages Fidelity International Growth Fund, which launched roughly 15 years ago with a Canadian version launching shortly afterwards. The fund targets companies with multiyear structural growth prospects, high barriers to entry and attractive valuations, based on earnings forecasts. The fund is a concentrated one with only 75 companies and Jed notes he is looking for companies that can maintain or even raise their price despite extremely adverse economic environments. Jed also touches upon where he sees growth opportunities including Japan and Africa.
