Russell and Rey chat about the coming of what seems to be a very dark and deadly foe for Moon Knight - after reading this arc, there's plenty to fear for our Fist of Khonshu!

BARE BONES (Written by Rey):

Zodiac wages a personal war against Norman Osborn in what seemingly looks like a thirst for anarchy. Recruiting accomplices such as Manslaughter Marsdale, The Clown and his own lover, Death Reaper, Zodiac causes terror to HAMMER and Osborn, by killing his men, before turning his attention to superheroes.

Luring Johnny Storm into an old SHIELD complex, Zodiac taunts the Human Torch enraging him, making him reckless and careless. Passing through a tunnel turns out to be a trap, and the Torch is severely hurt from the Energy Siphon system, before Zodiac callously beats him to an inch of his life.

With Johnny in hospital surrounded by Sue, Ronin and Hank Pym Zodiac continues the onslaught by rigging the hospital to blow. Hundreds of people die in the explosion but Sue manages to save a few with her force field, including the superheroes and her injured brother.

Not content with causing that mayhem, Zodiac also rigs phantom alerts to HAMMER that Galactus is coming. Osborn touches base with Agent Murphy, who has been following the case and correctly believes the random events are tied together. Osborn dismisses this and demotes the concerned Murphy to a glorified desk job.

With Paste Pot Pete and Whirlwind (who had been acting as a mole with HAMMER) now joining the villainous crew, Zodiac unleashes yet another act of terror in procuring a gaint robot to lay waste to New York City. Osborn and the Avengers have to contest with the destruction but all this is slowly revealed to be nothing more than a diversion for Zodiac and his true plan is revealed.

On top of the revelations that Zodiac manipulated the likes of Marsdale and the Clown to work for him from the start, the Zodiac Key is revealed to be what Zodiac was after all along. In a chilling monologue to a cornered Agent Murphy, Zodiac reveals all, before killing the luckless agent.

Norman Osborn plays spin doctor to the media after the string of catastrophic events, and in an undisclosed location, Zodiac looks on gleefully - keen to undermine and ruin Osborn and the authority he has established.

EPISODE 250:

The two High Priests return and what better way to celebrate a milestone episode than to review a BIG issue in the current series thus far -

SEGMENT: MOONSHINE - NEW COMIC BOOK REVIEW

MOON KNIGHT VOL. 9 #5 -

"Horoscope"

Released November 17th 2021

Writer - Jed MacKay

Penciler/Inker - Alessandro Cappuccio

Colorist - Rachelle Rosenberg

Letterer - VC's Corey Petit

Editor - Tom Brevoort

Rebecca and Rey chat a little about the Disney+ teaser and have a go at cockney accents before diving into the latest and greatest from the Moon Knight team... (oh, we also talk muffins...you're welcome!)

BARE BONES (Written by Rey):

In two parallel threads, Marc is both in therapy with Dr Sterman, trying to uncover the core of his unhappiness, as well as on the hunt for a lead that Terry brings to him. Terry tells Marc that it's Soldier who is the villain taunting him and takes him to an apartment across the street where Moon Knight discovers surveillance equipment and a photo of Soldier in his former days as a Hydra soldier.

The sessions with Dr Sterman in the recent past reveal that Marc hasn't been totally honest with the doctor, and she probes him to look deeper within himself to discover what it is that makes him unhappy.

Marc reveals the relationship with his father, as well as the path he chose that has ultimately led to an ostracisation of his family and friends.

Back in the present, Moon Knight decides to investigate further and drops in to see Soldier's mother at her apartment, where they have a cordial conversation.

This soon leads Moon Knight to the whereabouts of Soldier, who is found chained to a radiator with a bomb set to explode. The mystery villain taunts Moon Knight and tries to force him to choose - either leave Soldier to die, or try and free him and have both of them perish in the bomb blast.

Despite Soldier's protestations, Moon Knight perseveres and manages to free Soldier and himself just before the bomb destroys everything.

In the rubble, Moon Knight is met face to face with the villain who has been taunting him for so long - it's Zodiac!

High Priests of Khonshu, Rebecca and Rey return to follow the trevails of Marc and his tragic mask, Moon Knight...

Greer Nelson, aka Tigra turns up at the Midnight Mission and it's timely too, as Marc needs some serious friendship to dig him out of his funk...that, Jigsaw and an obscure villain all in one bumper issue!

SEGMENT: MOONSHINE - NEW COMIC BOOK REVIEW

MOON KNIGHT VOL. 9 # 4 - 'Blackmail'

Released October 27th 2021

Writer - Jed MacKay

Penciler/Inker - Alessandro Cappuccio

Colorist - Rachelle Rosenberg

Letterer - VC's Corey Petit

Covers - Steve McNiven & Frank D'Armata

Variant Cover - Gabrielle Dell'Otto; Joshua Cassara & Dean White

In another session with Dr. Sterman, Mr. Knight justifies the use of a mask in an attempt to explain to the doctor why she's never seen him without it on.

To Mr. Knight, the person that is Marc is insignificant compared to the symbol that is the Fist of Khonshu - they are part of his vestments...a suit or a shroud...and both are worn by dead people.

Elsewhere, Rampage aka Stuart Clarke explains to the mystery villain who hired him, how he hopes to break Moon Knight. The evil mastermind relishes Rampage's strategy to attack Steven Grant's funds and commends him and his tenacity.

Back at the Midnight Mission, Mr. Knight has a visit from one of his old friends, Tigra. Greer Nelson's sunny disposition curries favour with Reese before Mr. Knight receives a phone call from Rampage, threatening to destroy his finances lest he do as he says.

Moon Knight complies and as the caped hero, attacks super villain Jigsaw and his crew late at night. Rampage wants revenge on Jigsaw and uses Moon Knight, who is happy to oblige. Quickly after, Moon Knight crashes into Rampage's hideout, surprising the villain and alongside Tigra, the two heroes terrorise Rampage despite his attempts to threaten Moon Knight further by wiping out his entire bank account.

Moon Knight shrugs off any measly threat, and warns Rampage, "I'm Moon Knight. You have no hold over me".

Later that night, Moon Knight and Tigra reflect on their friendship and how Moon Knight has changed. Marc reveals his sorrow in how he has destroyed his friends and even his relationship with his own daughter.

Wearily, Marc reveals to Tigra why he wears the mask - he does it in order to not have to look at himself (and see the person he's become}...

Tigra comforts Marc and the two sit atop a building waiting till the new day earns the sun...
