Today's Rapid Fire topics include:

* We react to comments from Marcus Freeman that CJ Carr and Kenny Minchey have been splitting scout team reps.

* We have comments from Freeman on freshman defensive end Bryce Young and discuss our confidence in the strong side defensive end position if Josh Burnham is out this week.

* Which side of the ball do you expect the best performance from this week: Offense or Defense?

* Notre Dame and Purdue played every year from 1946-2014. Do you miss the yearly rivalry?

* Which team do you feel more differently about now compared to two weeks ago: Florida State, USC or Notre Dame?

* Is Northern Illinois more likely to run the table this season or lose four games like Marshall did two years ago?

* Boise State, Colorado State, Fresno State, and San Diego State are going to join Oregon State and Washington State in the Pac-12 beginning in the 2026-27 academic year. What do you think of the move?

* Was Texas A&M a better win or was Northern Illinois a worse loss?

Some of this week's "We In/We Out" questions include:

* We In/We Out: Marcus Freeman’s statement that they have to learn how to handle success is really just an excuse considering they weren’t that successful when the lost to Marshall, Stanford. Louisville and Clemson?

* We In/We Out: Even if the shoulder injury that Leonard has is on the “non-throwing” shoulder it is still a hindrance with throwing as well as making him hesitant to run and getting tackled. If you think about it, in a QB throwing pattern the non-throwing arm usually goes up as well in the throwing motion?

* In/Out: This is the game Leonard locks in and starts pushing the ball down field.

* In/Out: Kenny Minchey starts a game in the 2024-25 season.

* We In/We Out: All of the captains actually step up this weekend and LEAD this team to victory

* We In/We Out: We won’t see Freeman referring to the analytics guy for advice as much this week and coach with more a plan and feel for his team.

* In/Out: Notre Dame’s D-line doesn’t get knocked back at the line of scrimmage regularly by Purdues OL.

* We in/we out: Freeman is still coaching at Notre Dame in 2026.

* In/Out: If they made a QB Change and it was Angeli, they could beat every remaining team on their schedule with him.

* In/Out: Notre Dame will throw the first TD pass of the season against Purdue.

* In/Out: Riley Leonard goes 175+ passing yards

* In/Out: Mitchell Evans has 50 yards

* In/Out: J Love and Special Sauce rushes for 100 and has a reception over 10 yards

* In/Out: Greathouse has 70 passing yards

* In/Out: Greathouse has a reception over 11 yards
