Irish Breakdown

Rapid Fire topics include:

* JJ Redick just walked away from a lucrative podcasting career to become the head coach of the LA Lakers. What current Notre Dame football coach would you want to see start his own podcast?

* What about former Notre Dame coaches as podcast hosts?

* Fill-in the blank...With the EA Sports College Football 25 game set to release in less than a month, they put out their list of the toughest places to play in college football and it’s BLANK that they have Texas A&M’s Kyle Field at No. 1 on their list.

* Buy or Sell Notre Dame Stadium not being in the top 10?

* Notre Dame in the College Football Playoffs.

* The NCAA Division I Council on Tuesday approved a rule change that will allow all football staff members to provide coaching instruction during practice and games, a change that removes some restrictions on the NCAA's previous maximum of 11 "countable" coaches. You good with it?

* A day after chastising a reporter at the College World Series for asking him about his future at Texas A&M, baseball coach Jim Schlossnagle left the Aggies to become head coach at Texas. We played his comments on Tuesday's show and we hear them again today and react.

* The days of the little league postgame trip to Pizza Hut.

Wednesday on IB Nation Sports Talk means Mailbag Day! Irish Breakdown answers listener/subscriber questions about Notre Dame football and more on today's show. Some of the topics include:

* Is Jaden Greathouse switching jerseys from No. 19 to No. 1 because he has confidence in himself or maybe even borderline cocky?

* Thoughts on Notre Dame's chances to make a "good run" in the College Football Playoff.

* What kind of season will grad transfer Liza Karlen have for Notre Dame women's basketball?

* Who will be Notre Dame's "game wreckers" at each position?

* Should there be separate Heisman trophies for defensive players and/or quarterbacks?

* Should former Heisman winners be the only ones who can vote for the award?

* Would Brady Quinn have had a better career if he was drafted by a better team?

* If we gave truth serum to Brian Kelly and Marcus Freeman, what would we ask them?

* Will Howard Cross have a better season, worse season or about the same season this year compared to the one he had last year?

* More!

In part one of the show we talk big picture about the Notre Dame 2024 football schedule, which has received a lot of criticism. Is it soft, like some say? Is it a typical Notre Dame schedule that is extremely hard? Or, is it somewhere in between. Bryan and Vince break that down.
