Katie Molony is the Co-CEO of Irish Studio, the leading Irish digital media company in North America, providing the worldwide Irish diaspora with daily news, politics and current affairs. Prior to joining Irish Studio Katie was the CEO of Maximum Media which is now Ireland's leading digital publishing company with leading brands like Joe, SportsJoe, and Her.
When Katie joined Maximum in 2014 they were just a small start-up out of Galway with a loyal and active social media presence. Under Katie's leadership, Maximum Media evolved into a much more professional publication and by 2017 were named the second fastest-growing company in Ireland by the Financial Times. Before working in the digital media Katie was the Head of Marketing at The Irish Times, one of Ireland's oldest print publications. She has been on both sides of the publishing world and has seen the impact of the change in how news is produced and consumed over the past decade. We discuss the importance of making a distinction between traffic and audience and how media companies can maintain the integrity of their brand while still reaching an audience.
Fergal Nealon, Founder of StoryTracks, chats with us about how the passion to preserve old Irish stories led to the creation of his company. Storytracks is a platform where you can record and share your stories and bring them to life by pinning them to physical locations.
