    1 King chapter 20.
record a series of wars between an Aramean king, Benhadad, and King Ahab of Israel. With the help of prophetic oracles, the Israelite king managed to repeatedly defeat an aggressive, arrogant and stronger enemy.
    Lessons

    Chapter 21
Naboth owned a vineyard, in proximity to King Ahab's palace in the city of Jezreel. Because of this, Ahab desired to acquire the vineyard so that he could use it for a vegetable (or herb) garden. Since he inherited the land from his ancestors, Naboth refused to sell it to Ahab.
    Lessons
No-one could have said God did any wrong if he'd just ignored Ahab's response, but he chose to notice it. God is glorified in this act of grace, because you can see what he is like and how gracious he is to you.

    Lesson
There is, of course, a lesson in this story, one God communicates many times throughout the Scriptures. “A little child shall lead them.” It is a call to listen to the children. Don't dismiss them. Truly hear what they have to say about the future of the church.

  • Olakunle’s Summary of 1Kings 14-16
You have walked in the way of Jeroboam… I will make your house like the house of Jeroboam: Baasha was not a blood descendant of Jeroboam, but he was a spiritual descendent of this great idolater of the northern kingdom. Because he walked in the way of Jeroboam, the house of Baasha would face the same judgment as the house of Jeroboam. The word of the LORD came by the prophet Jehu
In being like the house of Jeroboam, and because He killed them: In 1 Kings 16:2 God said that He lifted Baasha out of the dust and set him as ruler over Israel. In doing this, God used Baasha to bring judgment upon the house of Jeroboam; yet God did not cause Baasha to do this, so He rightly judged Baasha, even though God used the wickedness of Baasha in bringing judgment upon Jeroboam.
Elah the son of Baasha became king over Israel, and reigned two years in Tirzah: The hope of every king is to pass the throne on to his son and to further a lasting dynasty. Because Baasha was a wicked king, God did not bless his dynasty and his son only reigned two years. And Zimri went in and struck him and killed him in the twenty-seventh year of Asa king of Judah, and reigned in his place: Even as Baasha gained the throne through assassination, so the son of Baasha was assassinated by Zimri, an officer in the army of Israel. The man who assassinated Elah, the son of Baasha, did not enjoy a blessed reign. His end came soon. So all Israel made Omri, the commander of the army, king over Israel that day When Zimri saw that the city was taken, that he went into the citadel of the king’s house and burned the king’s house down upon himself with fire, and died, because of the sins which he had committed
Ahab the son of Omri did evil in the sight of the LORD, more than all who were before him: Each of the previous kings of Israel walked in the wicked pattern of Jeroboam. Ahab distinguished himself in being worse than Jeroboam.

    Kings 8-10

    Chp 8

Solomon summons the leaders of Israel and instructs them to move the ark of the covenant from Zion to the City of David.  The priests position the ark in the inner sanctuary of the temple, which is the Most Holy Place.  It was placed under the wings of the cherubim.  When the priests withdrew from the Holy Place, a cloud filled the temple for the glory of the Lord was present t.

While the entire assembly was gathered Solomon blesses them.  He thanked God for fulfilling what he had promised.  He acknowledged that the Lord had been faithful to them since the time he brought them out of Egypt.  He mentions that his father
David desired in his heart to build a temple for the Lord, but the Lord indicated that it would not be him but his son and the Lord kept his promise.

Solomon stands before the assembly and offers a prayer of dedication to the Lord, he praise him for his faithfulness and fulfilling his promises. Offerings are sacrificed to the Lord and Solomon observed the festival at that time and they celebrate for 14 days.

    Cp 9
Once the building of the temple and the royal palace was completed, the Lord appears to Solomon a second time as he did at Gibeon. The Lord acknowledges he heard his prayer and the temple would be consecrated by putting his name there forever.  He was informed that as long as he remained faithful and adhere to the commands given by the Lord that a royal throne would be established as he promised his father David.  However, if they turned away and worshiped others gods, Israel would be cut off from the promised land, the temple would be rejected and Israel would become an object of ridicule among the people.

  • Raphael’s Summary of 2nd Samuel 22-24
    SUMMARY OF THE BIBLE
    2 Samuel chapters 22-24
    Chapter 22
The prominent theme of first poem, comprising verses 2–20, is the rescue of David from his enemies, with the help of God, in the imagery of a rock as a place of refuge (verses 2–4), and as a theophany (verses 8–20) that God responded to his cry of help (verse 7) when he was in distress at the hands of the enemies
    lessons
David's conclusion after all the many things he had seen in his life was to praise God. He did this. He did it sincerely. In Revelation we learn that God's endvision for all creation is that we will worship Him.
    Chapter 23
David says that the spirit of God speaks through him, saying that a ruler who rules his people justly is like sunlight in the morning, or like a sun in a cloudless sky, its light gleaming off of the recently fallen rain on the land. He asks rhetorically if his house isn't a bit like this ideal image of just rulership.
    Lessons
David speaks by the power of the Holy Ghost—Rulers must be just, ruling in the fear of God—David's mighty men are named and their deeds extolled.
    Chapter 24
it records that David was determined to number, or count, the people in Israel. The record states that the Lord was displeased with him for doing this. Apparently, David was numbering the people to see how successful he really was as king.
    lesson
Let us fall into the hands of the Lord, for his mercy is great; but do not let me fall into human hands” (2 Samuel 24:14). God is merciful and just, yet He loves us too much to let our sin go unpunished. God is merciful and just, yet He loves us too much to let our sin go unpunished

  • Erica’s Summary of 2nd Samuel 19-21
In second Samuel 19, David returns to Jerusalem, and restores his reign after the rebellion of his son Absalom. However, the reunion with the tribes of Israel is not without tension, particularly with the tribe of Judah in second, Samuel, 28 tells us the story of another rebellion, this time led by a man name, Sheba Joab, one of David’s commanders is sent to put down the rebellion and engages in a siege against the city where Sheba is hiding. A wise woman persuade Joab to spare the city by handing over Shabbos and to him and the rebellion is put down and second Samuel 21. We read about two distinct events first the Gibeonites seek revenge against Sauls family leading to the execution of some of his descendants. Second David’s mighty men engage in battles against the philistines, and the chapter conclude with the song of Thanksgiving from David. We see here in this chapter David’s reign as king, his successes, his wins his failures.

  • Olakunle’s Summary of 2nd Samuel 16-18
    Bible Summary 2nd Samuel Chapter 16 - 18
2nd Samuel Chapter 16: At a time of great need, Ziba met David with essential supplies. This was a generous and helpful gift from Ziba, Ziba told David that Mephibosheth was saying in Jerusalem, waiting to come to power after David and Absalom ruined each other. Ziba told David that Mephibosheth longed to restore the family of Saul to power. But these were lies that Ziba told David. Actually, Ziba left Mephibosheth behind to make it look as if Mephibosheth did not support David.
Shimei was a distant relative of the former King Saul, and he still resented David for replacing the dynasty of Saul, Shimei was about as offensive as a person could be. He wanted to destroy any shred of dignity or confidence that David had left. Abishai didn’t want to listen to Shimei curse or to dodge his stones anymore. The mighty men surrounding David were more than ready to kill Shimei in an instant but David let Shimei speak because he knew that God’s hand was on the future as well as the present.
Strangely, Absalom thought he could establish his kingdom through immorality. He was a clever and skilled politician but ignorant about the ways of God.
2nd Samuel Chapter 17: Ahithophel advised a quick, selective attack against David only. He advised urgency, doing it all while David was still west of the Jordan River. Ahithophel’s plan was smart. It was bold and had a high probability of success and it would spare Israel a protracted civil war between the supporters of David and the supporters of Absalom.
Absalom Now call Hushai the Archite: to asked for another opinion after such wise, well-received counsel.
The advice that Ahithophel has given is not good at this time: We can imagine that Hushai’s heart sank when he heard of the smart plan Ahithophel suggested. He had to quickly think of a counter-plan so that he could defeat the counsel of Ahithophel, as David asked him to do Hushai spoke of the David of the past, not the David of the present. Hushai saw David with his own eyes and knew that he was not strong and mighty. He hoped that Absalom would vividly remember the David of the past. . I advise that all Israel be fully gathered: This would take time. Hushai not only wanted to defeat the counsel of Ahithophel, he also wanted to do whatever he could to buy David more time before the inevitable attack came. The advice of Hushai the Archite is better than the advice of Ahithophel: This was the first time anyone said this – people always favored the advice of Ahithophel. One reason Absalom liked Hushai’s advice was because it appealed to his vanity. But David is warned about the plot coming his way.
2nd Samuel Chapter 18: Absalom's army was overpowered and defeated
    Absalom was also killed

Summary: God wants us to bring all of how problems to him. We are not to commit sin against his people. God is our judge not people.
    Ch. 14
Joab the son of Zeruiah sent for a wise woman. He wanted her to act as if she was in mourning and he wanted her to go see the King. Joab told her everything to say to the King. She did as she was instructed. The King told her he would take care of the issue. She later asked the King if she could ask the king a question and he allowed her to ask the question. After listening to the question the King asked her if Joab had anything to do with this and she said yes. The king spoke with Joab and told him to go get Absalom from Gershur and bring him back to Jerusalem. the agreement was that Absalom couldn't see the king face to face when he returned home. It had been 2 years and he had not seen the king but Absalom wanted to speak to the king but Joab wouldn't take heed. Absalom reached out to Joab on more than one occassion. Absalom had his servants to set Joab field on fire. Joab set up a meeting with the King to meet with Absalom.
Summary: God loves us all. We must allow God to lead us in everything that we speak and think.
    Ch. 15
Now Absalom has started to plot against his Father King David. bsalom has started to get the support of the people. Instead of sending the people to King David for answers to there questions Absalom takes it upon himself to answer there question as if he was King. Absalom had a huge following now.Now Absalom asked the king to let him go to Hebron. The king gave his blessing. Absalom had 200 men when he left Jerusalem. So the King heard what Absalom had done. So the King decided that it was time for him and his sevants to leave Jerusalem. Even King David advisor Ahithophel had joined Absalom. The king and servants had crossed the Brook Kidron and wander into the wilderness. The king told Zadok to take God's Chest back to Jerusalem that way he could spy on Absalom and bring the King information on what going on in Jerusalem. The king wept.
Summary: When we don't seek diections from God our lives falls apart. David's sons lives were evil, corrupt and judgemental. God wants us to prosper and walk in faith.
