Australia has weathered the economic storm brought on by the pandemic and associated shutdowns better than many countries. This is partially thanks to unprecedented levels of Federal Government support given to those unable to work or look for work during the pandemic. These special payments – JobKeeper and the coronavirus JobSeeker supplement – end this month, and predictions are that between 100,000 and 250,000 people could lose their jobs.
