Dallas-Ft. Worth area has a history of producing NBA All Stars like Larry Johnson, Dennis Rodman, Kenyon Martin, LaMarcus Aldridge and Julius Randle along with Olympic gold medalists Deron Williams and Chris Bosh, basketball in the metroplex has always been in the shadows of football.

But things are slowly starting to shift with Dallas being mentioned as one of the top basketball hotbeds in the country. Cade Cunningham, the top pick in 2021, and Tyrese Maxey are emerging NBA stars from the Dallas area who represent a new generation of talent coming from North Texas.

There’s a chance there could be ten, yes, TEN, players from the Dallas area drafted next June.
