Mike and Dan look back at a good week for the Islanders that had a bitter ending, and how they make it difficult to just be a fan. After an unexpected comeback win at home against the Penguins and a, dare we say "normal," win against the Senators in Ottawa, the Islanders returned to their regular ways, blowing a lead and losing in overtime to the Devils. The good news is that they took five of six points to keep the season alive like we asked last week. The bad news is that they slipped back into bad habits and according to the coach, "their asses were tight" before heading out on a crucial Western Canada swing. Picking up points could make us believe again, but the Islanders are like a prestige cable drama that leaves you hanging in suspense between episodes. Except in those shows, the drama is enjoyable. In the second half, they examine that road trip, rejoice in the return of the Islanders Hall of Fame and a new Ring of Honor and take issue with the vultures that are already circling up north.
