Mike and Dan examine the Islanders' role in Alex Ovechkin's record-setting day and Anthony Duclair's time off. By beating the Capitals and Wild, the team remains mathematically alive for a playoff berth while realistically out of it. But the big story on Sunday (and for the rest of time) was Ovechkin passing Wayne Gretzky as the NHL's all time leader in goals. The Islanders showed a great deal of class during the extra-long in-game ceremony even if the game's real star - two goal scorer Marc Gatcomb - wasn't given his proper due. We also discuss the decision to let Duclair take some time off following Tuesday's dismal loss to Tampa Bay, and how it's not nearly the PR disaster a lot of people are making it out to be. In the second half, we look ahead at four winnable game that might not matter and enjoy a second edition of The Michael Russo Mysteries all about how catastrophic the Wild's loss to the Islanders was, which is just an extra treat.
