  • [LIFE] E29. What do you give a profound shit about? This made me cry.

    I did a thing I don’t like to do…

    Super unfortunate.

    And apparently deeply necessary.

Have you ever heard the saying, “your why will make you cry?” — It’s something that I heard about 10 years ago and I believed it… also I couldn’t seem to find that deep emotional place consistently for years.

I’m sharing mine with you in today’s… along with:

    • Why the idea of your next level being outside of you is crap. Spoiler Alert: It’s already in YOU now.
    • What your desires say about you.
    • The most toxic thought you’ve held onto in the past.
    • How my confidence didn't increase a single ounce in order for me to go from making $15/hr to $140K a year.
    • And honestly so much more.

    • [LIFE] E28. I was cocky AF and my confidence never wavered. Then life handed me my ass. Here’s why I’m grateful for it.

      In this episode I share:

      • The mental game I play when I want to get myself to take action and don’t feel like it.
      • Why you may have been caught off guard or felt unprepared to handle the crappy things life has thrown your way.
      • What I believe is more useful: mental toughness or flexibility/adaptability?
      • The Japanese practice that helps me see brokenness as beautiful.
      • What it looks like to transform pain into power, purpose and profits.

      • [MINDSET] E27: How I Stopped the Icky Habit of Judging People. Following Your Intuition. A Riff on Iteration. And 3 Mental Tools That Save My Ass Daily.

        In this episode I share:

        • What does it mean to be in the bonus round of life and how this view launches me into immediately feeling good about my life, even in shitty moments?
        • What does it look like with a concrete example to iterate on something and make it better?
        • 3 examples of what intuition and divine guidance feels like for me.
        • The concern I have about “women’s issues” becoming the gospel of perpetual struggle.
        • Why it’s a good thing that there isn’t “enough” of you to go around.
        • What to look at if the world feels fundamentally unsafe for you to fail?
        • How I manifested a Business Insider Feature & a segment on Fox News DC.

        • [LIFE] E26. Everyday Resilience — Finding the Magic in Your Mess + Cultivating Extreme Joy

Almost everything you've been taught about happiness is wrong... ok, maybe not everything, but 99% of it.

          • You've been taught that real happiness comes from something outside of you.
          • That you the world around you had to be different.
          • That people in your life need to be less annoying.
          • And those are lies. Simply put: you can be happier today. right now with nothing in your life changing. Your partner doesn’t have to act differently. Your kids don’t have to "behave." You don’t have to get a new job or make more money and you don’t have to lose that last 10 pounds.

Sure. those things would be nice and if you've been waiting on them to actually enjoy your life — they've been holding you hostage.

You've been outsourcing happiness, living a circumstantial and conditional life, pretty much guaranteeing personal misery.

I can relate because I spent decades as the person chasing happiness and following old rules that led to delaying the satisfaction and fulfillment that’s available now.

            • The how/why my simple phrase of “it’s raining in paradise,” works to bring me out of a mental funk and back into a place of gratitude.
            • I want you to be proud of how carry the heavy thing. What I think it takes to get there.
            • How my personal year of yes gave way to experiencing unparalleled joy.
            • A quick riff on why I think all women can benefit from “making their own money.”
            • How becoming unavailable to feel like shit in my own life, was the radical shift that took me from emotional suffering to extreme joy.
            • What your therapist means by “glimmers” and how to find them in your life.

              In this episode I share:

How tapping into the version of you who’s already on the other side helps you make better decisions.

The single most powerful question you can ask yourself at the start of a crisis… or really all the way throughout.

A two part framework for a crisis communication plan and honestly, a lot more.

If you wanna feel like a badass with resilient communication — you’ll give this one a listen.

            • [LIFE] 24. What If God’s Not Testing You? An Alternative View to “Trials & Tribulations”

What if God wasn’t a judge-y asshole siting behind a desk, waiting to see if you passed or failed a test?

What if he wasn’t grading you?

What if he wasn’t a cosmic kill joy out to get you if you messed up or got questions “wrong?”

How would that feel for you?

How would that change your relationship?

In this episode, I’m breaking down:

              • How I went from my very conservative Christian belief of “God is testing you,” which often left me lifeless and stuck— to a belief that leaves me energized, excited and powerfully moving forward while staying connected to God.
              • Why I’m so confident that you can handle the challenge in front of you.
              • How you can allow your beliefs to evolve and the exact place where you can begin to do that today.

              • [LEADERSHIP] 23. Building Self Awareness + Understanding Your Nervous System So You Can Confidently Respond

                We’ve all been there.

Put on the spot to discuss something hard. Maybe it’s someone asking you how you’re doing after a death. Maybe it’s the friendly person from church asking how work is going after you’ve just been wrongfully terminated. Maybe it's the neighbor noticing they haven't seen your husband "home" in a while and you know it's because he moved out and you're getting a divorce.

In all cases, it’s uncomfortable as hell. And while you may want to tell them to jump off a bridge or back off… you don’t want to be too off putting.

Enter part two of the series I’m calling — How to Talk About the Elephant in the Room.

                In this episode I:

                • Riff on the joy of purpose work and how what you do each day should be nourishing and regenerative—  you also may or may not get a vocal solo.
                • Understanding your nervous system states and how it drives the responses you have when someone initiates an uncomfortable conversation with you following a WTF moment.
                • Plus lots more.

                  • [MINDSET] 21. I almost ended my leadership career before I got it started. What my mom said that saved it. Plus, a riff on building level 10 confidence.

In this episode I’m sharing the story about how my mom saved my leadership career before it was barely off the ground. I was 90ish days into my first management role and on the verge of throwing in the towel. Thankfully, before I could do anything nuts like put in my notice or find an easier role... she did exactly what a great mom does: Listened + Pushed my ass to get back in the game.

                    Tune in to hear:

                    • The question she asked me that flipped my perspective.
                    • The value of zooming out and working from a larger context.
                    • The only pathway for building unshakeable certainty.
                    • And lots more.

So can we just stop saying, “Everything happens for a reason?” Asking for a friend — jk. That friend is me. And I’m not asking — I’m saying, cut it out.

Unless of course it floods your body with an overwhelming sense of I’ve got this energy — there are better approaches.

In this episode of the podcast I share:

                      • Why I think this is an unsupportive sentiment.
                      • An approach I’ve found to be more effective.
                      • What mental game you can play to help see yourself on the side.
