It's Always Something

The Philadelphia 76ers open the 2019 NBA Playoffs on Saturday against the Brooklyn Nets. The Sixers and Nets split the season series with each team winning two games. Most of the games took place before the Sixers made the trades to improve their team. The fate of the series is on the left knee of Joel Embiid. If he cant go, we have ourselves a series. If he is able to push through the pain, Philly should advance with ease.

This episode is TOP NOTCH. Pags and Miho dive all into Philly Sports where they talk about their takes on the draft for the Eagles, who will be the next Flyers coach, if this 76ers should be on upset alert, and can the Phillies keep up this hot start? We then talk with our Bracket Challenge Winner Jarid Scarafiotti who was an all league catcher for Stephan F. Austin. He gives us a great look into the mindset of a catcher and how they can change a game. We close with our BS Segment where we talk about all types of topics. We discuss Jeopardy, Group Cuddling, and everyone's favorite Game of Thrones!

The Phillies bullpen blows a save and cannot hold off the Nationals in extra innings. Ramos gives up a home run with two outs in the 9th and Alverez gives up a LONG homer in the 10th as the Nationals storm back from 6-1 to pull off the victory. Aaron Nola continues to not look like the ACE we need him to be as he gives up another 4 runs. Bryce Harper hit another home run and Franco stays hot at the dish. The Phillies go for the series win on Wednesday.

The Phillies continue to start the season off strong and take the opening game of the series against the Nationals. The Phillies ride the long ball for another day as Hoskins homers twice and Herrera hits his first of the year. Velasquez was strong in his first start of the season going 5 innings and giving up 2 runs. Pat Neshak held on for his first save after allowing 2 hits and a run in the 9th. The Phils go for the series win tomorrow evening.

The Phillies lose to the Twins on a beautiful Saturday afternoon at CBP. Twins starting pitcher Michael Pineda was able to keep the Phillies off balance with a mix of his 94mph fastball and above average breaking ball. Jake Arrieta had a great start outside of the top of the 3rd where he gave up back to back home runs, both on 90 mph cutter/sliders. The Phillies had a chance late in the game to take the lead but were unable to capitalize. Seranthony Dominguez continues to struggle is it time for him to be sent to LV?

The Phillies offense continues to impress led by tonight by Hoskins and Herrera.  They are now averaging 8 runs per game early in the season. The Los Angeles Dodgers led the MLB last year at 4.9 per game. I believe the Phillies will eclipse that mark! Nick Pivetta continues to show flashes but has not shown the consistency of someone who is headed for a breakout season. The Phillies improve to 4-0 at home and are currently in first place in the NL East. Arrieta looks to win the series tomorrow.

Today is a HEATER of an episode! Pags and Miho discuss their favorite #27 and it is two great choices for this #. Pags then gets into detail on the Referees side of view when it comes to ejections and tossing coaches out of the game. After this the guys continue the discussion on "Corporate". It is then time for seasons 3 and 4 of Game of Thrones in under 5 minutes! Can Pags do it? Yes! But can he do it well?? Miho then lets you know who he is picking in the final four because he is currently leading Pags in the March Madness tourney. The second segment is the Philly Sports Talk where we discuss the Sixers limping to the finish line, if Wentz will be extended, and the 4-1 First Place Phillies. We talk in detail about how this summer will be a lot of fun at the ball park. The last segment is our interview with Jason West. Jason played two minor league seasons in the Dodgers organization and he tells us some stories at Yasiel Puig and Tommy Lasorda that you are going to need to hear to believe!!

The Phillies defense and pitching of 2017/2018 showed up and it cost the Phillies a victory in Washington. The good news is the team came from behind to take the lead by scoring 8 runs...the bad news is our bullpen and defense gave it right back to the Nationals. The Phils are now 4-1 going into an off day and a weekend series with the Minnesota Twins.
