It's Always Something

Miho talks about the Patrick Mahomes deal and how the Cheifs backed up the Brinks trucks to get this done. Somehow a 500 million dollar deal is both good for the player and team friendly? The NFL Preseason is also in jeopardy and looks like it will not be played at all this August.

Miho then welcomes Tony Manville to the show to discuss all things sports. We talk about Golf, the NFL, the MLB return and much more. It is a great conversation that you are going to want to hear!

The Phillies have reported for camp and are already feeling the effects of the coronavirus. Can they actually make if through the 2020 season?

Miho talks about how baseball is back even after the Players and Owners were unable to come to an agreement. A 60 game season will begin July 24th and there will be no expanded playoffs. This is a loss for all baseball fans, especially the ones here in Philadelphia.

Miho then welcomes Alexander Smith to the show to discuss the NHL Return and 24 team playoff. Will the Flyers be able to continue their run of good hockey after 3 months off? Can they win in neutral site games and not at home? Is there any chance Carter Hart isn't ready for the playoffs? We discuss this and much more.

Miho also talks about the Jamal Adams trade rumors and whether or not the Eagles should be in on the young safety. There are money and cost concerns, but with the alternative of Adams being on the Cowboys, What should the Birds offer?

Miho talks about the news the Brandon Brooks has torn his Achilles tendon while working out at the NovaCare Complex. This is the other Achilles so now this make both of them in the last 18 months. Who is going to replace Brooks? Is it Jason Peters at guard? Do they move Andre Dillard inside? What are your thoughts on the next move??

Miho then discusses the latest in negotiations between the MLB and MLBPA. Rob Manfred said last Wednesday "unequivocally" and "100%" there will be baseball and now on Monday he is "not confident" there will be a season. This guy is just a total stoog. The Phillies had a strong draft and came away with some prospects that have great value for where they were picked. What grade would you give the Phillies draft class?

Miho wraps up the episode talking about Joel Embiid reaching his minutes bonus so now the final 3 years and 95 million dollars are now guaranteed. He hit his minutes number for 3 straight years even while battling injuries. Good for Joel and now he will be a 76er through 2023.

Miho talks about the latest in negotiations between the MLB and MLBPA. Bad news - we are nowhere close to an agreement. Good news - Commissioner Manfred can mandate a 48 game season....The MLB Draft is this week and the Phillies are looking to add pitching to the organization. Be on the lookout for a local high school kid to be the pick if he is available at 15.

Miho discusses the latest in the talks with the NHL and NBA. The Flyers have a chance to be the # 1 seed as a round-robin format will determine the top 4 seeds. Worst case scenario they are the #4 seed, which is what they are now. The Sixers will be playing in Orlando and for a team whose Home/Road splits were so outrageous, can they actually win games? A 10-24 record will be put to the test.

Miho finishes the episode talking about the Birds and how they need to continue to add to the defense and go all in this year. Adding another pass rush could be the difference between 10-6 and 12-4. Carson Wentz and the gang were seen working out in Houston recently..look for Jalen Reagor to be a key part of this offense in 2020.

Miho talks about the latest in the MLB negotiations and the proposal sent from the Players back to the owners. Now that both sides have officially submitted a proposal the actual negotiating can begin. The players have started to move the conversation with deferred money payments, is this enough to really get things moving?

Miho discusses the latest in the NHL and NBA and what that means for Philadelphia. JVR is back in the lineup for the Flyers possibly pushing Joel Farabee out? Also, it was reported that $100 million dollar man Al Horford will be coming off the bench when the playoffs resume in the NBA. Is this going to work for the Sixers?

Miho finishes the episode talking about the rule changes in the NFL. They eliminated the Pass Interference Challange, as well as did not pass the change to the onsides kick. Also, the Philadelphia Eagles have some interesting roster battles to look forward to this fall.

Miho discusses "The Match" 2.0 between Peyton Manning and Tiger Woods vs. Tom Brady and Phil Mickelson. Tom Brady hit the shot of the day but overall looked like a guy who has other things to focus on but Phil was the star of the show. He was entertaining from start to finish and also taught us some things about the game of golf. Overall, it was well done in a time of need.

Miho then talks about the NHL return proposal of a 24 team NFL Playoff bracket. This is good news for everyone. It feels as if the NBA and NHL are going to have to return directly to the postseason due to timing. Adding an additional 8 teams and cities to the playoff party will benefit all parties involved.

The NBA is the only league talking about returning in a bubble. The NBA is looking to partner with Disney and bring back basketball in Orlando at the ESPN Wide World of Sports complex. They believe the hotels and logistics of this give them the best chance to succeed in returning safely. The NBA could also implement dramatic changes to its postseason format. 2020 is going to be a fun ride.

What was your biggest takeaway from the documentary? Is Jordan the GOAT?

Miho then breaks down the "return to play" proposal from the MLB owners to the players. Is there a chance the players agree to a 50/50 revenue share? What does this exactly mean? Baseball is going to look very different in 2020 and we should just embrace the change and enjoy any version of baseball.

In today's episode, Miho talks about "The Last Dance Ep. 5 & 6". We learned quite a bit about the 1992 Dream Team and how Michael became the Alpha among Alphas during the Olympics. It also talked about his gambling and how he would gamble with the security team while throwing quarters closest to a wall. Just fascinating stuff behind the scenes.

We then get a call from a college friend to give his take on Michael Jordan and the debate between him and Lebron James. Who do you think the GOAT is?

We finish the show today talking about the grades for every NFL Draft class. Miho goes through the rankings given by NFL.com and talks about his thoughts on some interesting moves that were made.
