It's Always Something

This is a special episode of 2Close2Call Sports. The Eagles made some controversial moves during the NFL Draft and you the fans wanted to be heard.

Miho welcomes three friends onto today's episode to discuss the Philadelphia Eagles Draft and what it means for the future of the franchise.

How do you feel about Jalen Reagor? What about Jalen Hurts?

Let me know your thoughts in the comments or reach out via social media if you want to be on the show!

Miho gives his reaction to parts 1 and 2 of the Michael Jordan Documentary "The Last Dance". It is safe to say the Jerry Krouse is a STOOG. Scottie Pippen was drastically underpaid and extremely petty. As well as, the "Cocaine Circus" that was the bulls of the early 90s.

Miho then discusses the NFL Draft and the latest rumors that are being released. Do the Giants really want a QB? Do the 49ers trade one or both of their first-round picks?  Can the Jags implode anymore?

Miho wraps up today's episode by giving his final takes on the Eagles draft and how they should be using their first and second picks this year. EVERYONE is talking about a WR but he doesn't believe that is the way to go!

Miho is joined by two of his former Division1 Football friends and they are talking Philadelphia Eagles. Check out Mike Callahan's thoughts on WR or bust in round 1 and if Howie Roseman has anything up his sleeve. Jamie Pagliaro also joins the show to tell everyone why he is higher than most fans on the Birds offseason to this point.

Next, Miho talks about the possibility of MLB playing its entire season in Japan and how the reports are getting more and more outlandish. It is time to release all thoughts of a "normal" season and just embrace the 2020 and 2021 may be asterisks years when it comes to the record books.

Finally, the NBA tried to play a live HORSE competition and it was less than appealing. The idea was a good one and should be elaborated on. It was just the execution that was lacking. Miho gives his thoughts on what other leagues can do to get involved with TV.

The NFL Draft will take place at the end of the month and it will be 100% virtual. Teams will not be able to gather at their facilities and will have to complete the draft Fantasy Football style from their homes. This is going to be Chaos and I am going to LOVE it.

Which do you believe is most likely?
- Birds trade up for a Top 3 WR
- Stay put at 21 and take the best player available
- Trade down for more picks

The Phillies 2020 season has gotten underway via simulation by Strat-O-Matic and there are a few early surprises in the clubhouse. Bryce Harper is off to a HOT start but Jake Arrieta is not....

We wrap up today's episode discussing what all leagues are doing to try to figure out how to play as early as possible but still remain safe and in partnership with the government and their regulations. It is a difficult process but hopefully, we will have a resolution soon.

The MLB and MLBPA have reached an agreement on a potential "doomsday" scenario where there is no 2020 season at all. The Players will be rewarded 2019 service time in exchange for not receiving full pay. On the surface, it seems like a nice win for the players.

There are currently 3 former #1 overall draft picks that are still Free Agents in the NFL. This is unprecedented. Cam Newton, Clowney, and Jameis Winston are still all on the market and may end up with deals nowhere near they thought at the beginning of the offseason.

I am rewatching Classic Philly Sports games, including Game 5 of the 2008 World Series, The Roy Halladay perfect game, Super Bowl 52, The 4th and 26 game, Mike Vick Magic, Game 3 and 4 of the 2010 Stanley Cup Finals and much more....Let's talk about it!

The Dynasty is Dead! Tom Brady has decided to take his talents to Tampa Bay and join Bruce Arian's "No Risk it, No Biscuit" Offense and sling the rock 40-50 times a week. This is a wild decision that was put into motion when Belichek wanted to keep Jimmy G and move on from Brady a few years ago.

Cam Newton has been told to seek a trade and was replaced by Teddy Bridgewater. Joe Brady gets a guy he has worked with in New Orleans. Phillip Rivers is now a Colt, and the QB carousel continues to spin. We also learned more about the NUK trade to the Cardinals and it is a wild story!

The Eagles decide to move on from Malcolm Jenkins and most Birds fans think this is a mistake. I am here to tell you it is the only way to get the best out of the Franchise Quarterback. This is now Carson's Team and his voice will be heard while breaking down the team huddle. No more Jason Peters, or Malcolm Jenkins...Alshon Jeffrey is soon to follow.

The Birds then trade for Darius Slay and immediately make him the Highest-Paid Corner in football! Big-Play Slay will need to live up to his nickname for the type of coin he is being paid.

Today's episode has a very somber tone, as the Corona Virus has wrecked HAVOC on the ENTIRE sports world. Not just here in the US but the entire world has almost come to a stop to try and slow down the spread of the virus. Miho gives an update on EVERYTHING that has been postponed, suspended, or cancelled. If I had to guess, we won't see sports in this country until July or August....

However, there is one league that is currently operating as close to business as usual and that is the NFL. Free Agency is underway and Day 1 brought in a flurry of moves. Even during the time of recording more information kept coming in! Hopkins gets traded, Diggs gets traded, and we still do not have an answer for Tom Brady...

The Philadelphia Eagles signed a DT/NT Javon Hargrave to a 3 for 39 mill deal, and there are mixed reviews among Birds fans. We have two callers that left voicemails with their opinion and we play that for you and discuss much much more!

Have you seen the new LA Rams Logo?!? What are they thinking?? I'll give you my take on what LA is trying to accomplish. The NFL Players needed a Memo that states once you vote, you cannot change your mind....ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Just another look of dumb jocks for the NFLPA. Dak's new offer, Tua is cleared, and much more!

The MLB gave us a look behind the curtain this spring with all-access audio and THIS NEEDS TO BE A THING. The MLB is losing fans and this is the perfect opportunity to go all-in and show off the personalities of these players. The audio is electric!

NCAA March Madness is underway with the tip-off of conference tournament week. Will any bubbles burst with upsets during the tournament? We are less than a week from Selection Sunday! Who do you think wins it all??

Now that we are all done watching men in tights run....let's talk about it! Miho talks about the NFL Combine and the results can change the Draft. A few guys performed really well and helped their stock and a few not so much.

The Flyers have won 6 straight and are now within 3 points of first place in the division with a chance to cut the deficit to 1 on Wednesday night. GET ON BOARD PEOPLE. The Flyers have a GOALIE and thus a chance to win LORD STANLEY!

Baseball is back and the injuries are mounting for the Yankees already. Severino will have Tommy John, Judge and Staton will both miss opening day. Andrew McCutchen will miss Opening day and now the question for the Phillies is, Who hits leadoff?

We want to thank Joel Embiid for being a listener of 2Close2Call because he obviously heard our last episode and went off for a career-high 49! Ben Simmons will be re-evaluated in 2 weeks but looks to be out 4-8 weeks.

The Flyers made multiple trades at the deadline to bolster the depth and the bottom 6. Will it be enough to get them over the top and a possible Stanley Cup?

The NFL Combine is this weekend and the Eagles will be watching very closely with 10 picks in the upcoming NFL Draft.
