  • Doc & Son Episode 88 - May the Fourth Be a Happy Birthday (I Know It Doesn't Make Sense)

Greetings, fellow listeners. A very super special episode because this one was recorded two days right after my 22nd birthday and more importantly (With so much regret saying it) today on Star Wars Day so, once again with regret, "May the Fourth be with you" :( Recorded regularly on the voice memo app on my phone in my mom's car, this speedy chat tackles the topics of my recent birthday celebration, the highlights of my birthday party, my deep resentment of the Star Wars franchise and the annual commemoration of it which sounds like the popular catchphrase is being said by someone with a lisp, and the pleasure of singing a ballad with the themes of everlasting love and outer space in the mix.

  • Doc & Son Episode 87 - Son in the Middle

Greetings, fellow listeners. This episode was recorded on the voice memo app on my phone in my mom's car on our way to Tea & Poets from my grandparents' house. We quickly chatter about my upcoming 22nd birthday next week and where I am currently in my life, handling the criticism and judgements from my dad, the never-ending support from my mom, the deep resentment of my older sister's college graduation and her plans for afterwards, and the continuous journey of searching for my calling in life. I also paint you a musical of my entire confused and directionless life with my rendition of Alice Cooper's hit song "I'm Eighteen".

  • Doc & Son Episode 86 - The Odd Couple of Sunshine Boys

Greetings, fellow listeners. What is definitely my personal favorite episode of the entire podcast, my Mom and I have such a wonderful in-depth conversation with the twenty-first guest of the podcast who really means a lot to me: my 90 year-old bowling teammate Jim Carpenter. Recorded on the voice memo app on my phone in the comfort of his own house (Notice the upbeat swinging jazz music in the background), this hour and a half-long chitchat is filled with loads of amazing topics that range from Jim's previous lives as a cabinet designer and professional golf player for over six decades, to hearing is breathtaking singing skills from being a baritone opera singer for sixty years, the thrills of bowling and still killing it at 90 years of age, celebrating his 90th birthday with the entire bowling league, and discussing his massive heart attack that followed with his tedious physical rehabilitation process and his miraculous road to recovery. Believe it or not, this man has become a really big deal to my life in just a short period of three months.

  • Doc & Son Episode 85 - Livin' Like Lenny

Greetings, fellow listeners. Doc and I chat it out with our twentieth guest of the podcast: Lenny Castells, a real estate agent with 25 years of experience in the management and marketing of residential homes in the south Florida Market (Also big pop culture fanatic). For an hour and a half, we discuss our friendship being formed by mutual acquaintance Maria Salas, a local Latina movie critic and entertainment reporter who travels around the world interviewing A-list celebrities and Hollywood’s biggest stars 24/7. We also go back and forth on our common admiration of cinema, TV, and comedy of all sorts and Lenny paints a self-portrait of the everyday life of a decent, reliable, hard-working real estate agent.

Happy 40th birthday to the pope of pot,

  • Doc & Son Episode 84 - Mamma Mia, Mariano!

Greetings, fellow listeners. My parents and I step out of the comfort zone in El Casa de Santiago and into the welcoming of the residence of previous podcast guest Mariano Oliver. Mariano invited us over to his house for dinner on the weekend to return the favor of us inviting him over to our house for lunch last month. He spoiled us with all things Italian from Bolognese, garden salad, bread rolls, Mencia 2019 red wine, and tiramisu and espresso as the finishing touch. Afterwards, we recorded ourselves on the voice memo app on my phone conversing about the exquisite interior decorating of his home, the amount of books he has stashed and how much knowledge he has gained from reading them, the big bombshell he drops about moving out of his house at the end of the month to work at his new job as a wine connoisseur in South Miami and having his home occupied by a family living in our gated community who I've never known until now, and just dishing about our love of "The Godfather" after seeing the 50th anniversary screening last month with my parents and loving out on old showbiz and pop culture as the two old school souls that we are.

  • Doc & Son Episode 82 - Ye Haven't Been Fooled Whilst Venturing Solo

Greetings, fellow listeners. What once was the day to be silly and funny, has now become a yearly scam for brands to expand through the art of advertisement and capitalism. For the twenty-fifth time, I express my opinions on the decline of day to fill the human spirit with jokes and japes in all matter of tomfoolery. I also make this banter less dull with my rendition of Aerosmith's hit "I Don't Wanna Miss a Thing".

Greetings, fellow listeners. Rene Rivero returns to the podcast for the third time since the beginning of the new year. Jackson's biblical monologue in the cinematic masterpiece "Pulp Fiction".

Greetings, fellow listeners. This episode was recorded on the voice memo app on my phone within the walls of Miami's Best Pizza (Pardon the loud background noises). In this episode, me and my parents eat scrumptious pizza and salad while talking about attending a screening of "The Godfather" at Sunset Place in accordance to the upcoming 50th anniversary of the cinematic masterpiece and how it still holds up in this day and age. In honor of the timeless piece of work, Slash gives his electric guitar version of the iconic theme from the film composed by Nino Rota.
