Greetings, fellow listeners. This is a very unique episode for a very particular reason: this episode was recorded on the voice memo app on my phone at my grandparents' house. I then recorded the recording of the conversation on my phone onto the microphone of my podcast on Audacity  and then edited the entire thing. This episode once again involves my mom filling in Doc's seat while he's still away at work. We converse about how 2022 is treating us so far, the stress my mom deals with from taking care of both my grandparents 24/7, the one-year anniversary of Biden's presidency and how he's handled the nation over the past year, what's to continue happening throughout the year, and hanging out with my bro Rene the night before at hot venue and coming across two spiffy ladies (If you hear a constant whirring noise, it's my grandparents' maid vacuuming across the hall in the other room).

I honor the memory of the late doctor by conversing with the seventeenth official guest of the pod: my next-door neighbor Mariano Oliver. As usual, Doc's away at work so Mom keeps his seat warm and the conversation at a good flow (With Duke the dog poking his wet nose in the chatter). Hear us get to know Mariano much better than through just texts and passing by one another as he gives us the lowdown on living amongst us in the same gated community, his love and passion for sports, raising two adolescent daughters as a divorced dad, professionalizing the role of a wine connoisseur and agreeing to taste test wines the next time he returns.

Today, I open up to you on my despair about the passing of comedy legend Bob Saget, who passed away on January 9th in Orlando at age 65, and hear me explain why he was so special and why we mustn't forget about him forever. Also, I cherish the memory and legacy of African-American acting legend Sidney Poitier, who died four days prior to the previous episode in the Bahamas at age 94, and listen to me as I explain why he was an iconic figure in cinema history and a crucial figure to black history in the United States. May God rest them both.
