It has been a little while since I've discussed Queer as Folk so I thought why not have on a queer media expert to not only recap episode 13 but also discuss whether the TV show is still relevant in today's culture?
Jonathan Yaskoff is a talented film director, producer, and actor who recently starred in the film Bear Week Diaries (all about the iconic Provincetown Bear Week)! He was recently in the film Smothered By Mothers which stars actress Heather Matarazzo. And if you're a Real Housewives of Miami fan, you may remember him as the producer of Adriana De Moura's music video Fyah (when the women were all having a meltdown haha).
We discuss some of the key storylines in Queer as Folk, like sleeping with your boss (definitely a no no), conversion therapy, and the wild parties at Babylon.
Then, Jonathan reveals the behind the scenes of filming Reality TV and what it's like being on the Real Housewives. And, because Jonathan has been both behind and on the camera, he discusses his thoughts on sex scenes, nudity, and consent culture. Get ready for quite a dynamic conversation!
