  • I DID THIS FIRST! (Audio Version - 2/27/22)

Big episode here. You guys all know how PHIL COLLINS starred in a movie in 1988 called “BUSTER.” Surely you remember the film. Have any of you seen it. WELL, I HAVE. We’re going to BUST open “Buster” and ask ourselves: what did Phil Collins ever do that was so bad?!

We we also talk about how white people LOVED The Motown Sound in the 80s and it was a BIT MUCH.

Also, how did we let BRUCE WILLIS become a cool guy that sang soul music and wore sunglasses?! We just LET that happen? We’re all complicit.

All this, plus music from THE SAINTS and PATTI SMITH.

You might be checking out this episode and thinking, “Is the entire episode about Phil Collins for some reason?” It’s not. It’s not NOT about Phil Collins, but BILLY JOEL only comes up in passing.

  • I DID THIS FIRST! (Audio Version - 2/20/22)

    Hey all,

This week we’re going to talk about a bunch of people and they’re all DEAD. We lost P.J. O’ROURKE earlier this week. A man who was once responsible for editing the NATIONAL LAMPOON back when that meant something. Did we lose one of the good boomers? We’ll talk about it.

We’ll also talk about his fellow National Lampoon alum MICHAEL O’DONOGHUE and in fact we’ll look back at his home in 1979.

Plus, a look at the film “MONDO NEW YORK” which featured LYDIA LUNCH and Washington Square Park comedians CHARLIE BARNETT and RICK AVILES. You may not know who those guys are (because they’re dead), but New York comedians who were around back then very much do. You’ll also hear DEAN & THE WEENIES.

Plus, music from BLUR and KOMEDA.

Check out this article “P.J. O’Rourke: How I Killed ‘National Lampoon’ (Guest Column)” for more on P.J. O’Rourke’s work with the National Lampoon https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/general-news/pj-o-rourke-how-i-809985/amp/

If you want to know more about Michael O’Donoghue, I suggest checking out my AUDIO COMMENTARY for his film, “Mr. Mike’s Mondo Video.” Available to all BONUS and VIP subscribers.

  • I DID THIS FIRST! (Audio Version - 2/6/22)

    Hey everyone!

It’s a brand new episode! I am finally gonna speak my mind. I am not going to say silent anymore. I am going to tell you what I think of that STEAMBOAT WILLIE cartoon. You may be surprised by what I have to say?

We’ve got music from THE MUMPS and JONA LEWIE.

We’re gonna talk about the new PAM & TOMMY series (sort-of) and a throwback of JANEANE GAROFALO on “The Late Late Show with TOM SNYDER” which I’m glad exists, but is interesting to watch through a 2022 lens.

We’re also going to talk about two of the DUMBEST 12” DUB MIXES I’ve ever heard from the 80s.

All this, plus MY FATHER DIED TODAY! (Seriously. Rest In Peace, Robert Fogelnest August 29th, 1946 - February 6th, 2022)
