Today we honor the passing of MEAT LOAF, look at the weird biopic VH1 did for him in 2000m we’ll be twice entertained by New Wave 80 French Pop sensation LIO and we even manage to fit in some TODD RUNDGREN.

Also, how have I done 76 episodes of this show and not brought up the movie, “SHOCK TREATMENT” that’s just insanity.

  • I DID THIS FIRST! (Audio Version - 1/16/22)

This week all in one episode we will touch upon the work of (in an obviously particular order)

    THE BEATLES

    BRIAN WILSON

    THE RAMONES

BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN & THE E. STREET BAND

    BILLY JOEL

    EDDIE MONEY

    SHA NA NA

It’s all because of one great artist who we lost this week and her impact on pop culture is just too large to ignore. Of course I’m talking about…

    RONNIE SPECTOR.

We will listen to some things, see some footage off the beaten path from the other obvious Ronnie Spector tributes and generally pay tribute to probably the most powerful voice of the 1960s who at 16 years-old recorded a song that reverberated through AM radios and still is influencing our culture today. This is a journey through the life of Ronnie Spector that only I can give you.

Though we broadcast In Stereo (Where Available) this episode we go BACK TO MONO as needed. I hope you enjoy it.

  • I DID THIS FIRST! (Audio Version - 1/9/22)

Hey everyone. I am BACK… for real this time at 100% capacity. I don’t know how the hell I did any kind of broadcast last week because I was VERY SICK. Do I think one of my enemies gave me a virus to SILENCE me from bringing you the most important news and information each week? It’s possible. Or did JIMMY FALLON give me Omnicron over the phone? I don’t think it was his intention.

Anyway, this week we will celebrate the Blu-ray release of “GET CRAZY.” For those not familiar with the film, it was directed by ALLAN ARKUSH who directed “ROCK ’N’ ROLL HIGH SCHOOL” and for many years the film elements were LOST. Well, they have found them and Kino-Lorber has put together a terrific re-release of a movie that LOU REED was given a script for and said, “Okay, I’ll do it.”

If you’d like to hear my original interview with Allan Arkush from THE FOGELNEST FILES, that’s available HERE.

We’ll see the music video for the theme song to “Get Crazy” by SPARKS which is titled… you guessed it, “Get Crazy.”

I had to verify that some Public Access footage of a gentleman named LIONEL DAVIS singing a song called “Candy Pants” wasn’t some kind of bit. I did the homework and I am proud to present to you something very entertaining and from the heart.

We’ll look at the work of GARY GREENWALD who was one of those guys in the 80s who thought PUNK and METAL was damaging America’s youth.

Plus, I found the EXACT moment where the JUST SAY NO campaign failed me as a youth!

All this and there’s still time for GERALDO being menaced by SHA NA NA.

  • I DID THIS FIRST! (Audio Version - 1/3/22)

    Hey all,

This week we’re going to talk about a bunch of people and they’re all DEAD. We lost P.J. O’ROURKE earlier this week. A man who was once responsible for editing the NATIONAL LAMPOON back when that meant something. Did we lose one of the good boomers? We’ll talk about it.

We’ll also talk about his fellow National Lampoon alum MICHAEL O’DONOGHUE and in fact we’ll look back at his home in 1979.

Plus, a look at the film “MONDO NEW YORK” which featured LYDIA LUNCH and Washington Square Park comedians CHARLIE BARNETT and RICK AVILES. You may not know who those guys are (because they’re dead), but New York comedians who were around back then very much do. You’ll also hear DEAN & THE WEENIES.

Plus, music from BLUR and KOMEDA.

Check out this article “P.J. O’Rourke: How I Killed ‘National Lampoon’ (Guest Column)” for more on P.J. O’Rourke’s work with the National Lampoon https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/general-news/pj-o-rourke-how-i-809985/amp/

If you want to know more about Michael O’Donoghue, I suggest checking out my AUDIO COMMENTARY for his film, “Mr. Mike’s Mondo Video.” Available to all BONUS and VIP subscribers.

  • Audio Commentary - Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (1978)

If you haven't seen this film, I really recommend watching it first and then listening with the commentary. At the same time, if you haven't seen the film, there is possibly some real entertainment value in me trying my best to describe the movie which will probably sound fucking insane and make you want to watch it even more. It's available to stream.

There is a new AUDIO COMMENTARY once a month on FOGELNEST+.

  • I DID THIS FIRST! (Audio Version - 10/31/21)

All I will say about this week’s episode is that I did NOT do it to impress JODIE FOSTER.

Sorry, you’re going into this one blind, but I promise by the end, you’ll.either have a new favorite outsider music artist who may be owed back royalties from their previous work on a DEVO record, you will have the chance to own something that only the biggest fans of ELVIRA, MISTRESS OF THE DARK will want to own and we’ll feature reggae music by a guy who you might know as Cousin Kevin from the movie version of TOMMY?
