On January 1, 2026, Warren Buffett officially stepped down as CEO of Berkshire Hathaway and handed the reins to his longtime lieutenant Greg Abel.

Buffett had been CEO of $BRKB for the past 60 years, and Berkshire's stock price had increased 5.5 million percent during his six-decade tenure.
