English accent is called a stress accent.
For example, when you pronounce the word "language", you pronounce the first "a" strongly.
Japanese accent is called pitch accent.
All syllables are pronounced basically either in high or low pitch.
For example, candy in Japanese is あめ. Rain in Japanese is also あめ.
The accent of あめ for candy is low to high pitch.
The accent of あめ for rain is high to low pitch.
In the writing, we can tell them from Kanji.
