When Praise Goes Up His Blessing Comes Down
1. Praise Strengthens Faith - To Fill with Power, Make Strong to Empower
Rom 4:20 He was strengthened in faith and he gave Glory (praise) to God
1 Sam 30:6 David was greatly distressed, for the people spoke of stoning him, But David strengthened himself in the LORD his God
Ps 27:14 Wait patiently for the LORD; be strong and courageous. Wait patiently for the LORD! (David said sing this over yourself)
- We encourage ourselves through praise by hearing ourselves declare the faithfulness and goodness of God
- We can’t stay in fear and oppressed and praise at the same time
Eph 5:18-19 Don’t get drunk on wine, which leads to wild living. Instead, be filled with the Spirit 19 by reciting psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs for your own good. Sing and make music to the Lord with your hearts
Ps 95:2 Let us enter His presence with thanksgiving; let us make a joyful noise to Him in song
2. Praise Releases the Mighty Presence and Power of God
Ps 22:3 But You are holy, enthroned in the praises of Israel
2 Chron 5:13-14 When the trumpeters and singers were as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the Lord, and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of music, and praised the Lord, saying: "For He is good, for His mercy endures forever," that the house, the house of the Lord, was filled with a cloud, 14 so that the priests could not continue ministering because of the cloud; for the glory of the Lord filled the house of God
- Glory (Chabod) weightiness, that which is substantial or heavy, honor, splendor, power, wealth, authority, magnificence, fame, dignity, riches and excellence, His manifest presence, His goodness
- Praise is the sacrifice of our lives and when it’s received it releases heavens life, His manifest presence and power
Heb 13:15 (gwt) Through Jesus always bring God a sacrifice of praise
Ps 27:6 (amp) In His tent (house) I will offer sacrifices with shouts of joy; I will sing, yes, I will sing praises to the LORD
Ps 34:1 I will bless the LORD at all times (We praise the Lord at all times)
Ps 24:7-8 Open up, O ancient gates, and let the King of Glory in. 8 Who is this King of Glory? The Lord, strong and mighty, invincible in battle
2 Chron 20:20-25 Believe in the Lord your God, and you shall be established; believe His prophets, and you shall prosper." 21 And when he had consulted with the people, he appointed those who should sing to the Lord, and who should praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army and were saying: "Praise the Lord, For His mercy endures forever." 22 Now when they began to sing and to praise, the Lord set ambushes against the people of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir, who had come against Judah; and they were defeated. 23 they helped to destroy one another. 24 So when Judah came to a place overlooking the wilderness, they looked toward the multitude; and there were their dead bodies, fallen on the earth. No one had escaped. 25 When Jehoshaphat and his people came to take away their spoil, they found among them an abundance of valuables on the dead bodies, and precious jewelry, which they stripped off for themselves, more than they could carry away; and they were three days gathering the spoil because there was so much (The place is now called The Valley of Blessing)
