Undefeatable Joy 

1. You Can’t Beat a Joyful Believer

‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭1:9‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ You have loved righteousness and hated lawlessness; Therefore God, Your God, has anointed You With the oil of gladness more than Your companions

• Jesus had the oil of gladness and He is in you, so you have access to joy now
• As long as you have joy, you remain undefeated 
• As long as you have the Word in your heart, you still have joy

Mk 4:16-17 (niv) They hear the word and at once receive it with joy. 17 But since they have no root, they last only a short time. When trouble or persecution comes because of the word, they quickly fall away 

Gal 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness

• Joy and faith both come by hearing the Word of God
• God’s Word produces joy
• Position your life under the Word of God daily 
• The more promises you eat, the more joy you receive

1 Peter 1:8 NLT You love him even though you have never seen him. Though you do not see him now, you trust him; and you rejoice with a glorious, inexpressible joy

• We have joy in our spirits. Now we must develop it and grow it

John 15: 11 These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full

• When we rejoice in the Lord, we are acting on our faith

2. The Joy of the Lord is Your Strength

Nehemiah 8:10 Do not sorrow, for the joy of the Lord is your strength

• We must maintain a strong spirit

Prov 18:14 The spirit of a man will sustain him in sickness, but who can bear a broken spirit?

• A strong spirit will rejoice no matter what
• In the midst of adversity - It’s time to rejoice! (Count it all joy)

James‬ ‭1:2‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials

Psalms‬ ‭37:12-13‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ The wicked plots against the just, And gnashes at him with his teeth. 13 The Lord laughs at him, For He sees that his day is coming

• If God laughs, I’m going to laugh

Job‬ ‭5:22‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ You shall laugh at destruction and famine, And you shall not be afraid

• In the face of opposition the believer is to rejoice because God is strengthening him like a deer leaping

Habakkuk‬ ‭3:17-19‬ ‭Though the fig tree may not blossom, nor fruit be on the vines; Though the labor of the olive may fail, and the fields yield no food; Though the flock may be cut off from the fold, And there be no herd in the stalls— 18 Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation. 19 The LORD God is my strength; He will make my feet like deer’s feet, and He will make me walk on my high hills. Rejoice in the Lord Always

Phil 4:4 Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!

1. Don’t Let the Devil Steal Your Joy - Sometimes We Must Rejoice By Faith 

John 15:11 (gwt) I have told you this so that you will be as joyful as I am, and your joy will be complete

• The word of God is good news and it produces joy in our hearts 

Ps 4:7 You have put gladness in my heart

• Satan is afraid of the word because it produces joy and victory

• Satan can steal our joy, strength and victory by stealing the word 

1 Jn 4:4 This is the victory that overcomes the world even our faith

Neh 8:10 (gwt) Don't be sad because the joy you have in the Lord is your strength.

Ps 34:2 I will bless the LORD at all times

• When should we rejoice? – When we feel like it and when we don’t 
• We rejoice in the Lord not because of the circumstances but because we know that the word of our God remains the same

Is 46:10 (gnt) From the beginning I predicted the outcome; long ago I foretold what would happen. I said that my plans would never fail, that I would do everything I intended to do 

• Real faith is not sad or discouraged real faith keeps its joy
• Real faith keeps a mental image of future victory 

Heb 12:2 (gnt) Let us keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, on whom our faith depends from beginning to end. He did not give up because of the cross! On the contrary, because of the joy that was waiting for him, he thought nothing of the disgrace of dying on the cross, and he is now seated at the right side of God's throne 

Rom 8:28 We know that all things work together for the good of those who love God—those whom he has called according to his plan

2. So Let’s Obey Rejoice – Leap or Jump, Brighten Up and Spin Around 

Ps 32:11(gnt) Be glad and rejoice because of what the LORD has done. You that obey him, shout for joy! 

• Rejoice if He’s done anything good for you, to you and through you 

Acts 3:8-10 He jumped to his feet and began to walk. Then he went with them into the temple courts, walking and jumping, and praising God. 9 When all the people saw him walking and praising God, 10 they recognized him as the same man who used to sit begging at the temple gate called Beautiful, and they were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him

Jer 33:11 (nlt) The sounds of joy and laughter. The joyful voices of bridegrooms and brides will be heard again, along with the joyous songs of people bringing thanksgiving offerings to the LORD. They will sing, ‘Give thanks to the LORD of Heaven’s Armies, for the LORD is good. His faithful love endures forever!’ For I will restore the prosperity of this land to what it was in the past, says the LORD

• This is what’s coming and now I want you rejoice like its done

1. Our Praise is LOUD and Uninhibited

Uninhibited: expressing one's feelings or thoughts unselfconsciously and without restraint

for joy and sing praises ___________

Luke 6:23 Rejoice in that day and leap for joy! For indeed your reward is great in heaven, For in like manner their fathers did to the prophets ____________

Ps 30:11-12 (nlt) You have turned my mourning into joyful dancing.   You have taken away my clothes of mourning and clothed me with joy, 12 that I might sing praises to you and not be silent.  O Lord my God, I will give you thanks (TODAH) forever!

2 Sam 6:22 Yes, and I am willing to look even more foolish than this, even to be humiliated in my own eyes! 

● David knew that God’s presence was with him, and he knew he would have victory, and he simply loved God’s presence

2. We Praise Him For All He’s Done – He Saves, Restores and Blesses

Ps 126:1-3 When the Lord restored the fortunes of Zion (The Church) we were like those who dreamed. 2 Our mouths were filled with laughter our tongues with songs of joy. Then it was said among the nations “The Lord has done great things for them.” 3 The Lord has done great things for us,  and we are filled with JOY

Is 54:14 You will be __________, for___________. Terror will be far removed, for it will not come near you

● Protect your joy and be filled with laughter

Prov 17:22 A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a broken spirit saps a person’s strength

Job 8:21 He will once again fill your mouth with laughter and your lips
with shouts of joy

Ps 2:4 But the one who rules in heaven laughs. The Lord scoffs at them

Ps 42:11 Why am I discouraged? Why is my heart so sad? I will put my hope in God! I will praise him again — my Savior and my God

Ps 126:2 We were filled with laughter, and we sang for joy. And the other nations said, “What amazing things the Lord has done for them.”

3. We Praise Him for Today and Tomorrow’s Blessings

● Praise is the highest expression of our faith

Romans 8:28 NLT And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose

The Sound of Freedom – Chosen to Give Him Praise

1. A Chosen Generation – You Were Custom Made to Praise Him

1 Pet 2:9 But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light

● Chosen (eklektost) ek out of and lego is also a Latin word meaning “to gather or collect”, It means one that was picked from the larger group for a special service privilege and purpose
● To praise the goodness of God especially His miraculous power

Is 43:21 (mess) The people I chose,  the people I made especially for
myself, ________________

Jer 13:11 (gwt) “As a belt clings to a person's waist, so I have made them
to cling to me," declares the LORD. "I did this so that they would be my
people and bring __________________”

● This particular Psalm was written in 979 BC about 1,042 years ago

Ps 102:8 This shall be written for the generation to come: and the people
which shall be created shall praise the LORD

2. We Praise Him For All He’s Done – He Saves, Restores and Blesses us
PS 100:4 Enter the Temple gates with thanksgiving (TODAH); go into its courts with praise. Give thanks to him and praise him

● Thanksgiving (todah) adoration, praise, to lift one's hands in thanks

Is 60:18 (nlt) Praise will be on the lips of all who enter there
Is 60:18 (gnt) You will praise me because I have saved you #gratefulness

Is 60:8 (nlt) Fighting will not be heard again in your land. (Life) Nothing within your land (Life) will be destroyed. You will call your walls Saving Power and your gates Praise

Is 54:14 You will be _____________, for ___________. Terror will be far removed, for it will not come near you

● We are from the days of fighting and oppression because His comfort
● Comfort – deep empathy, to weep with one that weeps
● When God gets done there’s a whole lot of todah going on

Is 51:1- 3 Listen to Me, you who follow after righteousness, you who ______________: Look to the rock from which you were hewn, And to the hole of the pit from which you were dug. 2 Look to Abraham your father, And to Sarah who bore you; For I called him alone, And blessed him and increased him. 3 For the Lord will comfort Zion (The Church) He will comfort all her waste places; He will make her wilderness like Edens And her desert like the garden of the Lord; Joy and gladness will be found in it, thanksgiving and the voice of melody

● When I comfort you I remember everything you went through and as bad as the struggle was my blessing will be that much greater

The Sound of Freedom - Is The Sound of a Grateful Praise

1.  He is Worthy of Our Praise - Praise and the River of His Presence

Ps 100:1-7 Oh come, let us sing to the Lord! Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation. 2 Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving; Let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms. 3 For the Lord is the great God, And the great King above all gods. 4 In His hand are the deep places of the earth; The heights of the hills are His also. 5 The sea is His, for He made it; And His hands formed the dry land. 6 Oh come, let us worship and bow down; Let us kneel before the Lord our Maker. 7 For He is our God, And we are the people of His pasture, And the sheep of His hand

• Praise (tehillah) a celebration, a lauding, cheering, make much of, glorify, exalting of someone praiseworthy, songs of admiration 

Ps 95:2 (ISV) Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving; let us shout with songs of praise to him

Ps 46:4 There is a river whose streams bring joy to the city of God, the holy place where the Most High lives

Ps 16:11 In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are  pleasures forevermore

Ps 36:8 (GWT) They are refreshed with the rich foods in your house, and you make them drink from the river of your pleasure

Ps 17:5 I will be satisfied in Your presence

Ps 21:6 You cheer him with joy in Your presence

PS 65:1 Praise awaits you, O God, in Zion (Church)

2. One of The Sounds of Freedom is the Sound of Thanksgiving 

Ps 92:1 It is good to give thanks (Todah) to the LORD, And to sing praises 

• Thanksgiving (todah) also means adoration and praise 
• It literally means to lift the hands with thanksgiving for all he’s done 

Deut 28:47 (NAS) “Since you did not serve the LORD your God with joy and a cheerful heart, in gratitude for the abundance of all things, 48 you will serve your enemies

• The lack of thanksgiving and praise is a form of pride 

Deut 8:13-14 And when your herds and your flocks multiply, and your silver and your gold are multiplied, and all that you have is multiplied; 14 when your heart is lifted up, and you forget the Lord your God who brought you out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage 

• Our praise Is not just singing its service, its generosity, it’s our heart
• The grateful heart loves to serve, loves to give, loves to praise God

1 Chron 16:29 (amp) Give to the LORD the glory and honor due His name; Bring an offering [of thanksgiving], and come before Him; Worship the LORD in the splendor of holiness

Ps 96:7-9  Give to the Lord, O families of the peoples, Give to the Lord glory and strength. 8 Give to the Lord the glory due His name; Bring an offering, and come into His courts. 9 Oh, worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness! Tremble before Him, all the earth

Heb 13:15 Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name

When Praise Goes Up His Blessing Comes Down

1. Praise Strengthens Faith - To Fill with Power, Make Strong to Empower

Rom 4:20 He was strengthened in faith and he gave Glory (praise) to God

1 Sam 30:6 David was greatly distressed, for the people spoke of stoning him, But David strengthened himself in the LORD his God

Ps 27:14 Wait patiently for the LORD; be strong and courageous. Wait patiently for the LORD! (David said sing this over yourself) 

• We encourage ourselves through praise by hearing ourselves declare the faithfulness and goodness of God 
• We can’t stay in fear and oppressed and praise at the same time 

Eph 5:18-19 Don’t get drunk on wine, which leads to wild living. Instead, be filled with the Spirit  19 by reciting psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs for your own good. Sing and make music to the Lord with your hearts 

Ps 95:2 Let us enter His presence with thanksgiving; let us make a joyful noise to Him in song

2. Praise Releases the Mighty Presence and Power of God 

Ps 22:3 But You are holy, enthroned in the praises of Israel

2 Chron 5:13-14 When the trumpeters and singers were as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the Lord, and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of music, and praised the Lord, saying: "For He is good, for His mercy endures forever,"  that the house, the house of the Lord, was filled with a cloud, 14 so that the priests could not continue ministering because of the cloud; for the glory of the Lord filled the house of God 

• Glory (Chabod) weightiness, that which is substantial or heavy, honor, splendor, power, wealth, authority, magnificence, fame, dignity, riches and excellence, His manifest presence, His goodness 
• Praise is the sacrifice of our lives and when it’s received it releases heavens life, His manifest presence and power 

Heb 13:15 (gwt) Through Jesus always bring God a sacrifice of praise

Ps 27:6 (amp) In His tent (house) I will offer sacrifices with shouts of joy; I will sing, yes, I will sing praises to the LORD

Ps 34:1 I will bless the LORD at all times (We praise the Lord at all times) 

Ps 24:7-8 Open up, O ancient gates, and let the King of Glory in. 8 Who is this King of Glory? The Lord, strong and mighty, invincible in battle

2 Chron 20:20-25  Believe in the Lord your God, and you shall be established; believe His prophets, and you shall prosper." 21 And when he had consulted with the people, he appointed those who should sing to the Lord, and who should praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army and were saying: "Praise the Lord, For His mercy endures forever." 22 Now when they began to sing and to praise, the Lord set ambushes against the people of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir, who had come against Judah; and they were defeated. 23 they helped to destroy one another.  24 So when Judah came to a place overlooking the wilderness, they looked toward the multitude; and there were their dead bodies, fallen on the earth. No one had escaped. 25 When Jehoshaphat and his people came to take away their spoil, they found among them an abundance of valuables on the dead bodies, and precious jewelry, which they stripped off for themselves, more than they could carry away; and they were three days gathering the spoil because there was so much (The place is now called The Valley of Blessing) 

1. Joshua and Caleb - Breaking the Lid of Limitation
Numbers 14:24 But My servant Caleb, because he has a different spirit in him and has followed Me fully, I will bring into the land where he went, and his descendants shall inherit it

Numbers 14:7-9 The land we passed through to spy out is an exceedingly good land. If the Lord delights in us, then He will bring us into this land and give it to us, ‘a land which flows with milk and honey.’ Only do not rebel against the Lord, nor fear the people of the land, for they are our bread; their protection has departed from them, and the Lord is with us. Do not fear them

● If God said it, I believe it, that settles it

● God is way bigger than these giants (obstacles)

● We’re not a grasshopper, we’re children of the King

Proverbs 23:7 For as he thinks in his heart, so is he

● If we change our thinking, we change our life - We need God to remove negative fearful mind sets and to expand our thinking

● Our thinking can strengthen our faith or rob our faith

● The devil and God are after the mind

2. Abraham and Sarah – Against All Odds with Faith and Patience
Rom 4:20-21 He did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God, being fully persuaded that God had power to do what he had promised

● We feed our faith and starve our doubts by hearing the word

● Every time Abraham looked at the stars he was reminding himself
that God’s promises would come to pass

Hebrews 6:12 That you do not become sluggish, but imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises
James 1:4 But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing

Jeremiah 1:12 I am watching over my word to perform it

● “While faith brings the glory, patience prepares us for the glory.” – Pastor Jason

● We can’t let worry come in to rob us of our promised land

● Worry makes us miserable and it opens the door to the enemy #itpausesyou

Matthew 6:34 Therefore, do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own

Genesis 21:3 And Abraham called the name of his son who was born to him—whom Sarah bore to him—Isaac

3. King David – The Man After God’s Own Heart

Acts 13:22 He raised up for them David as king, to whom also He gave testimony and said, ‘I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after My own heart, who will do all My will’

● From a mere shepherd boy out in the field to the King of God’s people, Israel

Psalm 27:10 When my father and my mother forsake me, Then the Lord will take care of me
    
● It doesn’t matter where you start, God takes you to high places 

● Does God have your heart today? Do you know Him?

1. Think Right and Keep Thinking Right – Breaking The Lid of Limitation

3 Jn 2 Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth. #breakingpovertymentality

● If we change our thinking, we change our life - We need God to remove negative fearful mind sets and to expand our thinking
● Our thinking can strengthen our faith or rob our faith
● The devil and God are after the mind
Prov 23:7 For as he thinks in his heart, so is he

2. Believe Right and Keep Believing Right – Ever Increasing Faith

Rom 10:17 Faith comes by hearing, and hearing By the Word of God

● We feed our faith and starve our doubt by hearing the word
● Our faith needs to be strengthened so it can grow into great faith

Lk 7:9 I have not found such great faith, not even in Israel!

Acts 11:24 For he was a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and of faith

3. Speak Right and Keep Speaking Right

1 Sam 17:44-46 the Philistine cursed David by his gods. 45 David said to the Philistine, "You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the Lord Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. 46 This day the Lord will hand you over to me, and I'll strike you down and cut off your head. Today the whole world will know that there is a God in Israel

● Confession brings faith, strengthens our faith and releases our faith
● David broke the curse and a spirit of intimidation with his confession
● David declared that the Lord would help Him defeat his enemy and he confessed that this victory would bring glory to God

Jer 1:12 I am watching over my word to perform it

4. Acts Right and Keep Acting Right – Faith is an Act

Js 2:17 Faith by itself if it does not have works is dead being alone
● We have to work the word every step into our promise land
● We have to act to plant the word, water the word, to protect the word and act to reap the harvest, every step of faith requires action

Mk 4:26, 29 A man scatters seed on the ground. 29 As soon as the grain is ripe, he puts the sickle to it, because the harvest has come

Mk 11:24-25 24 Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.  And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins

Ps 1:3 Like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither whatever they do prospers

1 Sam 17:48-49 As the Philistine moved closer to attack him, David ran quickly toward the battle line to meet him. 49 Reaching into his bag and taking out a stone, he slung it and struck the Philistine on the forehead. The stone sank into his forehead, and he fell face down on the ground
