Ex 14:15 Why do you cry to me? Tell my people to go forward

1. Go Forward by Forgetting Your Past Mistakes as a Sinner 

Is 43:18 (nlt) Do not remember the things that have happened before. Do not think about the things of the past. 19 See, I will do a new thing. It will begin happening now. 25 I—yes, I alone—will blot out your sins for my own sake and will never think of them again

1 Jn 1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness

• God is faithful to forgive and to forget, we must be the same   

2. Go Forward by Forgetting Your Mistakes as a Christian 

Phil 3:13 (nlt) I focus on one thing: Forgetting the past 

• Paul did not just say forget but he said forgetting

Ps 32:5 (nlt) Finally, I confessed all my sins to you and stopped trying to hide my guilt. I said to myself, "I will confess my rebellion to the Lord." And you forgave me! All my guilt is gone

• Going forward in forgiveness moves shame and guilt from our hear

Ps 51:2,7-8,10-13   Wash away all cleanse me from my sin. 7 Cleanse me and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow.  8 Let me hear joy and gladness; let the bones you have (Sin) crushed rejoice.  10 Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. 11 Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me. 12 Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me. 13 Then I will teach transgressors your ways

• Going forward in forgiveness restores the joy of God’s presence and releases men into divine purpose 

Phil 3:14 (nlt) I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ, is calling us

Jn 5:14 You’ve been healed. Sin no more, lest a worse thing come on you 

Ps 32:1-2 Blessed is he whose sins are forgiven, 2 Blessed is the man whose sin the Lord does not count against him

• Going forward in forgiveness produces prosperity 

Prov 28:13 He who conceals his sins does not prosper, but whoever confesses and renounces them finds mercy

2 Chron 7:14-15 If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land. 15 Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayers offered in this place

• Going forward in forgiveness brings healing and fellowship  

Ps 103:2-3 Praise the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits  3 who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases

Ezek 37:23 I will save them from all their sinful backsliding, and I will cleanse them. They will be my people, and I will be their God 

Acts 26:18 To open their eyes and turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, so that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in Me

• Going forward in forgiveness breaks Satan’s power 

Lk 7:47 Her sins—and they are many—have been forgiven, so she has shown me much love. But a person who is forgiven little shows only little

In this message, Pastor Jason Lozano of Freedom Christian Center teaches that anything is possible with God. When we want to complain we need to flip the script because we cannot complain and stand in faith at the same time. If complaining blocks the voice of God, then we get and obey his direction. If complaining limits God's power, then we need to lean into His power by faith. If complaining brings depression, then rejoice and praise God. And if complaining stops us, then we must courageously go forward.

1. If Complaining Blocks the Voice of God, then Get and Obey His Direction

Ps 106:25 they complained in their tents, they didn’t listen to God’s voice 

1 Sam 30:6,8-9 David was greatly distressed because the men were talking of stoning him; each one was bitter in spirit because of his sons and daughters. But David found strength in the Lord his God. 8 David inquired of the Lord, “Shall I pursue this raiding party? Will I overtake them?” 9 “Pursue them,” he answered. “You will certainly overtake them and recover all”

2. If Complaining Limits God’s Power then Lean Into His Power by Faith

Ps 78:41-42 Yes, again and again they tempted God, And limited the Holy One of Israel. 42 They did not remember His power 

Gen 18:14 Is anything too difficult for the LORD?

Lk 1:37 For nothing will be impossible with God

Num 11:23 Then the LORD said to Moses, “Has my arm lost its power? Now you will see whether or not my word comes true!”

3. If Complaining Brings Depression then Rejoice and Praise God

Is 61:3 Give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness

• We can’t praise God and complain simultaneously 

Ps 95:2 Let us enter His presence with thanksgiving; let us make a joyful noise to Him in song

Heb 13:15 Offer through Jesus a continual sacrifice of praise to God

Acts 16:25-26 At midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises to God and the prisoners heard them. 26 And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and all bands were loosed

4. If Complaining Has Stopped Us then We Must Courageously Go Forward

Lk 8:43-48 A woman, having a flow of blood for twelve years, who had spent all her livelihood on physicians and could not be healed by any, 44 came from behind and touched the border of His garment. And immediately her flow of blood stopped. 46 But Jesus said, “Somebody touched Me, for I perceived power going out from Me.” 47 Now when the woman saw that she was not hidden, she came trembling; and falling down before Him, she declared to Him in the presence of all the people the reason she had touched Him and how she was healed immediately. 48 And He said to her, “Daughter, be of good cheer; your faith has made you well. Go in peace”

Pastor Jason Lozano of Freedom Christian Center explains that when we complain we limit the Power of God and block the voice and direction of the Holy Spirit. Complaining hinders our focus, kills our faith, attracts negative people, and causes us to forget His faithfulness. When we stop complaining, we are able to see from God's perspective and Go Forward, knowing that God has already given us the victory. 

1. Stop Crying – Complaining Will Never Bring Breakthrough

Ex 14:15 Why do you cry to me? Tell my people to go forward

• Complaining leads to more complaining, becomes a habit, hinders our focus, kills faith, attracts negative people, kills creativity etc.

Ps 106:25 They grumbled in their tents; They did not listen to God’s voice 

• It blocks the voice and direction of the Holy spirit etc.

Ps 78:40-42 How often they provoked Him in the wilderness, And grieved Him in the desert! 41  Yes, again and again they tempted God, And limited the Holy One of Israel. 42  They did not remember His power 

• It limits God's power, and causes us to forget His faithfulness

Phil 4:4 Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again—rejoice!

• It brings hopelessness and depression and robs joy

Phil 2:14 Do everything without complaining and arguing

• It makes us unthankful and ungrateful – we can’t praise God and complain simultaneously 

2. Complaining is a Sin that Callouses the Heart and Removes Faith

Js 4:7 (nlt) It is sin to know what you ought to do and then not do it

• Sin says you will be satisfied, but the sin only satisfies temporarily 
• Sin hardens the heart from trusting God wholeheartedly
• Sin separates us from the presence of God 
• Sin keeps us in the past and locks future blessings up
• Sin must be repented of and renounced – go forward

 Heb 12:1-2 (MSG) We’d better get on with it. Strip down, start running—and never quit! No extra spiritual fat, no parasitic sins. Keep your eyes on Jesus, who both began and finished this race we’re in. Study how he did it. Because he never lost sight of where he was headed

3. Stop Complaining and Go Forward the Lord is With Us 

2 Ks 16:16-17 “What shall we do?” So he answered “Do not fear, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” 17  And Elisha prayed, and said, “Lord, I pray, open his eyes that he may see.” Then the Lord opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw. And behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha

• When we stop complaining it allows us to see from God's perspective

2. Taking What Belongs to You Through Spiritual Warfare 

Eph 6:12-13,16-17  Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles (Schemes & Strategies) of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of  the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. 16 above all, take the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God

• The shield of faith quenches all the lies of the evil one 

Gen 3:1 the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which  God had made. And he said to the woman, “Did God really say”

• Taking it through your sword – declaring the word of the lord 

Rom 4:17 (As it is written, “I have made you a father of many nations”) in the presence of Him whom he believed—God, who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did

Lk 4:4 But Jesus answered him, saying, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.’ ”

Is 54:17 No weapon formed against you shall prosper, And every tongue which rises against you in judgment You shall condemn

3. The Kingdom of God Refuses to be Intimidated by Fear

Eph 6:13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand

Js 4:7 Submit to God, resist the Devil and he will flee from you

1 Pet 5:7-10 (niv) Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you 8 Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. 9  Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings. 10 And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered (endured) a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast. To him be the power for ever and ever Amen

2 Tim 2:12 If we suffer (endure with Him), we shall also reign with Him

Num 13:32,33  And they gave the children of Israel a bad report of the land 33 There we saw the giants and we were like grasshoppers in our own sight, and so we were in their sight

Is 41:10 (gwt) Don’t be afraid, because I am with you. Don’t be intimidated; I am your God.  I will strengthen you. I will help you. I will support you with my victorious right hand

Once the presence of God shows up in our life, we are never the same. The Church (the Temple) brings God's presence and with Him there is protection and blessing. The Bible teaches us that we (the Church) have the ability to release strength and favor to our city and Pastor Jason Lozano further shares that as the House of God goes, the City will go. 

Restoring the House of David, the House of His Presence

1. Restoring the House of His Presence for the Purpose of Encounter 

Rev 3:7-8 He who has the key of David, He who opens and no one shuts, and shuts and no one opens 8 I know your deeds. I have placed before you an open door, which no one can shut. For you have a little strength, yet you have kept My word and have not denied My name

Acts 15:16-17 ‘I will return to you and raise up the tabernacle of David that has fallen into ruin.  I will restore and rebuild what David experienced 17 so that all of humanity will be able to encounter the Lord including gentiles whom I have called to be my very own,’ says God 

2. When God’s House is Restored it Blesses the City and the People in it

Amos 9:13-14 (nlt) “The time will come,” says the Lord, “when the grain and grapes will grow faster than they can be harvested. Then the terraced vineyards on the hills of Israel will drip with sweet wine! 14 I will bring my exiled people back from distant lands, and they will rebuild their ruined cities and live in them again 

• When a city receives the house of God, the church brings God’s presence, protection and blessing to the city #SHIFTATMOSPHERES
• What made Zion special, the honoring of the presence of God
• Zion was the hill of Jerusalem on which the city of David was built
• “Zion" stands for a society of unity, peace and freedom

Is 60:14 they will call you the City of the Lord, Zion of the Holy One 

Is 37:35 For my own honor and for the sake of my servant David (The church) I will defend this city and protect it

Prov 11:10-11 The blessing that rests on the righteous releases strength and favor to the entire city, but shouts of joy will be heard when the wicked one dies. 11 The blessing of favor resting upon the righteous influences a city to lift it higher and to bring the City into prosperity 

Is 62:4 Never again will you be called “The Forsaken City” or “Desolate Land.” Your new name will be “The City of God’s Delight” and “The Bride of God,” for the LORD delights in you and will claim you as his bride

3.  The Honor of Building God a Prized Possession 

1 Chron 22:5 (nlv) The house that is to be built for the Lord must be very beautiful. It must be very great, and well-known in all the Nations. So I will make preparations and get things ready for it to be built

1 Chron 29:1-3 (nlv) It is a very big work because this beautiful house is not for man, but for the Lord God. 2 I have given all that I have been able to give for the house of my God. 3 The house of my God means so much to me. 9 Then the people were filled with joy because they had been so willing to give. They gave their gift to the Lord with a whole heart. And King David was filled with great joy

Deut 16:16-17 No one should appear before the Lord empty-handed: 17 Each of you must bring a gift in proportion to the way the Lord your God has blessed you

1. What We Do With God’s House Directly Affects Our House

Haggai 1:2-4 Thus speaks the Lord of hosts, saying: ‘This people says, “The time has not come, the time that the Lord’s house should be built.” 3 Then the word of the Lord came by Haggai the prophet, saying, 4 “Is it time for you yourselves to dwell in your paneled houses, and this
temple to lie in ruins?”

● We are in this world but not of this world, we are God’s people

● The temple is not just any building, it’s God’s house set apart like no
other building for His own special purposes

1 Chronicles 12:32 they understood the times and knew what Israel
should do

● Time (Kairos) An appointed time or season, a moment of maximum
opportunity, it is a moment when change is possible and a
moment when all things “come together” and align

● We must seize this moment in time and walk through the open door
Revelations 3:8 I know your deeds. See, I have placed before you an open door, which no one can shut. For you have only a little strength, yet you have kept My word and have not denied My name

● I believe the reason why God is trusting us with this awesome
responsibility, we have been and will be all about the saving of souls

2. What An Honor For Us To Make Preparations To Build God’s House

Haggai 1:8 “Go up to the mountains and bring wood and build the temple, that I may take pleasure in it and be glorified,” says the Lord

● Temple – palace, sanctuary, a spacious royal splendid building

1 Chronicles 22:5 (nlv) The house that is to be built for the Lord must be very beautiful. It must be very great, and well-known in all the Nations. So I will make preparations and get things ready for it to be built

3. Get Ready For The Glory of God

Haggai 2:7-9 ‘I will shake all nations, and they shall come to you, the desire of all nations, and I will fill this temple with glory,’ says the Lord of hosts. 8 ‘The silver is Mine, and the gold is Mine,’ says the Lord of hosts. 9 ‘The glory of this 2nd temple shall be greater than the former,’ says the Lord of hosts. ‘And in this place, I will give peace,’ says the Lord of hosts

● Glory – weightiness, heavy, substantial, honor, splendor, power,
wealth, dignity, riches and excellency

Isaiah 60:13 (tlb) The glory will be yours to beautify My sanctuary. My Temple will be glorious

Building our God a Temple affects our House. God is our protector, provider and defender. When God’s house is in order, the believer’s house will be set in order too. As the body of Christ builds His Church (His Temple), God will bless the believer’s house and allow it to grow supernaturally. As Pastor Jason Lozano shares, “We can build our house all we want.
