1. To Accomplish God’s Purpose We Must Conquer Our Souls 

2 Cor 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new

The new birth is a spiritual birth not a mental or physical birth

1 Thess 5:23-24 Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 24 He who calls you is faithful, who also will do it.

The soul – mind, will and emotions and the body are not made new so here is where Satan tries to take advantage of us
The most important thing we can teach a new Christian is the renewing of the mind as a defense against Satan
If the believer doesn’t deal with his soul and body he will continually be opening the door to the devil

Eph 4:27 nor give place to the devil

2. How Receiving and Practicing the Word Saves the Soul

Js 1:21-22 lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.  22 But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves

Engrafted – to implant, planting seeds and allowing them to grow
Save (sozo) deliver, protect, heal, preserve to make well and whole

Heb 4:12 For the word of God is quick, living, powerful and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart

1 Pet 1:22 Since you have purified your souls in obeying the truth
Hearing and doing the Word changes our souls, this is not God’s responsibility, this is our responsibility

Js 4:7 obey God resist the devil and he will flee from you

The major way believers close the door to the devil is to get their minds renewed with the Word and by practicing the Word

3. If We Fail to Renew the Mind We Forfeit God’s Purposes for Our Lives

Rom 12:1-2 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God

If the believer never learns to renew his mind he will keep thinking like he used to think before he was redeemed
Go to God, He knows who you truly are and who you’re created to be
The word separates our soul for God’s purposes 

Eph 5:26 sanctify (separate) her, cleansing her by the washing with water through the Word

Phil 3:12-14 Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. 13 Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus

1. God Had a Purpose in Mind When He Called You

Phil 3:12 that I may lay hold of the reason that Jesus laid hold of me

Jn 15:16 You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last

2. Don’t Allow Satan and the Flesh to Separate You From God’s Purposes

Acts 26:18-19 (tpt) And you will open their eyes to their true condition, so that they may turn from darkness to the Light and from the power of Satan to the power of God. By placing their faith in me they will receive the total forgiveness of sins and be made holy, taking hold of the inheritance that I give to my children!’ “So you see, King Agrippa, I have not been disobedient to what was revealed to me from heaven

Satan wants to separate us from our purpose through fear, the flesh, sins, insecurity, distraction, but stay focused on God’s will

Js 4:13-17 you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, spend a year there, buy and sell, and make a profit”; you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away. Instead you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we shall live and do this or that.” But now you boast in your arrogance. All such boasting is evil. So to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin

Ex 3:9-11 their cry has reached me, and I have seen the way the Egyptians are oppressing them. So now, go. I am sending you to Pharaoh to bring my people out of Egypt.” But Moses said to God, “Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the them out of Egypt ?
If Moses doesn’t conquer his excuses the people don’t get free

Ex 9:1 Tell Pharaoh to Let my people go, so they can worship me

3. There are Benefits of Serving God’s Plan Now and Forever

Is 51:1-2 Listen to me, all who hope for deliverance, all who seek the Lord! Consider the rock from which you were cut, the hole from which you were mined. Yes, think about Abraham, your father, and Sarah, your mother. Abraham was only one man when I called him. But when I blessed him, he became a great nation

Heb 6:10 God is not unjust; He will not forget your work and the love you have shown Him as you have helped His people and continue to help

God will never be owed or out given, you will reap what you sow

Mk 10:29-30 “Anyone who leaves his home behind and chooses me over children, parents, family, and possessions, all for the sake of the gospel, it will come back to him a hundred times as much in this lifetime homes, family, mothers, brothers, sisters, children, possessions along with persecutions. And in the age to come, he will inherit eternal life.

Our motives are pure on why we obey God, but He blesses obedience

2 Cor 5:6,9-10 We live with a joyful confidence, yet at the same time we take delight in the thought of leaving our bodies behind to be at home with the Lord. So whether we live or die we make it our life’s passion to live our lives pleasing to him. For one day we will all be openly revealed before Christ on his throne so that each of us will be duly rewarded for our actions done in life, whether good or worthless

Rom 8:28,31 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose. What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?

1. Jesus Has Redeemed Us from the Bondage of the Fear of Death

Heb 2:14-15 only by dying could He break the power of the devil, who had the power of death. Only in this way could He set free (redeem) all who have lived their entire lives as (slaves to the fear of dying)

● Fear comes because there's not enough faith in Christ’s victory
● The biggest blessing in our lives will be the day we die

1 Cor 15:55,57 So death, tell me, where is your victory? Tell me death, where is your sting?  we thank God for giving us the victory as conquerors through our Lord Jesus, the Anointed One

● Living for our eternal purpose breaks the fear of death

Heb 9:27 Every human is appointed to die once, and then to face God’s judgment. But when we die we will be face-to-face with Christ, the One who experienced death once for all to bear the sins of many!

● The judgment seat is coming so work for God while it is day

2 Cor 5:6-10 That’s why we’re always full of courage. ● The old apostle knew it wasn’t his time to die yet because after he assessed his ministry he realized he wasn’t done yet
● Somewhere in our spirit there is a witness when we’re done for God
● He planted churches, preached everywhere, wrote most of the New Testament, preached in palaces yet he knew I’m not done yet
● He said I’m going to press on and punish and persecute my enemy

Phil 1:21-25 For to me, living means living for Christ, and dying is even better. But if I live, I can do more fruitful work for Christ. So, I really don’t know which is better. I’m torn between two desires: I long to go and be with Christ, which would be far better for me. But for your sake, it is better that I continue to live. Knowing this, I am convinced that I’ll remain alive so I can continue to help all of you grow

● Paul became so excited about departing he struggled to stay
● Departed - when your spirit just leaves your body and goes up and up
● To depart was also a military term that meant time to break camp, pack up, move on to new territory and your job is done

2 Tim 4:7-8 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the Righteous Judge, will award to me on that day and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for His appearing

●  I have finished the race, the goal of my purpose in life

Woke - Redeemed by the blood of the lamb

Rev 12:11 (tpt) And they have defeated him by the blood of the Lamb and by their testimony. And they did not love their lives so much that they were afraid to die.

1. I’m woke to the fact I‘ve been redeemed from Satan’s power

Eph 1:7 (nlt) He is so rich in kindness and grace that he purchased our freedom (Redemption) with the blood of his Son and forgave our sins.

• Redemption – to free, deliver and release from bondage by payment
• Jesus dies on the cross to set us free from the power of Satan who had imprisoned us by our sins and failures

Col 1:13-14 (nlt) For he has rescued us from the power of darkness and transferred us into the Kingdom of his dear Son, 14 who purchased our freedom (redemption) and forgave our sins.

1 Pet 1:18-19 knowing that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, like silver or gold, from your aimless conduct received by tradition from your fathers, 19 but with the precious blood of Christ

2. I’m woke to the fact that the fear of death has no sting

Heb 2:14-15  only by dying could he break the power of the devil, who had the power of death. 15 Only in this way could he set free all who have lived their lives as (slaves to the fear of dying.) #woke

Lk 21:26,28 men’s hearts will fail them from fear and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth,  28  Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near.”

Matt 10:28-31 “Don’t be afraid of those who want to kill your body; they cannot touch your soul. Fear only God, who can destroy both soul and body in hell. 29 What is the price of two sparrows one copper coin ? But not a single sparrow can fall to the ground without your Father knowing it. 30 And the very hairs on your head are all numbered. 31 So don’t be afraid; you are more valuable to God than a whole flock of sparrows.

1 Cor 15:55,57 (tpt) So death, tell me, where is your victory?  Tell me death, where is your sting? 57 we thank God for giving us the victory as conquerors through our Lord Jesus, the Anointed One.

3. I’m woke to the fact that He Has Redeemed me for a purpose #testify

Ps 107:2 Has the Lord redeemed you? Then speak out! Tell others he has redeemed you from your enemies.

• The judgment seat is coming so work for God while it is day

Jn 9:4 (nlt) We must quickly carry out the tasks assigned us by the one who sent us. The night is coming, and then no one can work.

Mk 4:35-40 (tpt) “Let’s cross over to the other side of the lake.” Suddenly, as they were crossing the lake, a ferocious tempest arose, with violent winds and waves that were crashing into the boat until it was all but swamped. But Jesus was calmly sleeping in the stern, resting on a cushion. So they shook him awake, saying, “Teacher, don’t you even care that we are all about to die!” Fully awake, he rebuked the storm and shouted to the sea, “Hush! Calm down!” All at once the wind stopped and howling and the water became calm. Then he turned to his disciples and said to them, “Why are you so afraid? Haven’t you learned to trust yet?”

1. Dripping Faith Quenches All the Fiery Darts of the Wicked One

Eph 6:16 above all, taking the shield of faith with which, you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one

● The purpose of the fiery darts is to separate you from your faith
● Satan repeatedly hits the mind in order to break into the mind
● Whoever controls your mind controls your spirit and life

1 Tim 6:12 Fight the good fight of the faith

2 Tim 4:7 I have fought the good fight, I have kept the faith

● If you separate from your faith, you’re separated from your victory

1 Jn 5:4 this is the victory that has overcome the world even our faith

2. Come out of Agreement and into Agreement With Your Confession

Josh 1:8-9 This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

Eph 6:17 take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word (rhema) of God;

Ps 27:1 The Lord is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the strength of my life; Of whom shall I be afraid?

1 Sam 17:45 You come to me with a sword, with a spear, and with a javelin. But I come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts

PS 91:2 I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.”

3. It’s Not Time to Retreat, It’s Time to Go Forward and Reap the Harvest

Mk 5:19 Go home to your friends, and tell them what great things the Lord has done for you, and how He has had compassion on you

Matt 9:37 (tpt) He turned to his disciples and said, “The harvest is huge and ripe! But there are not enough harvesters to bring it all in”

Prov 24:10-11 (msg) If you fall to pieces in a crisis, there wasn’t much to you in the first place. Rescue the perishing; don’t hesitate to step in and help. If you say, “Hey, that’s none of my business, “will that get you off the hook? Someone is watching you closely, you know Someone not impressed with weak excuses.

Lk 22:32 But I have prayed for you, that your faith should not fail; and when you have returned to Me, strengthen your brethren

● The devil is afraid of the faith we carry

Ps 27:13-14 (nkjv) I would have lost heart, unless I had believed That I would see the goodness of the Lord In the land of the living. (tpt) Here’s what I’ve learned through it all: Don’t give up; don’t be impatient; be entwined as one with the Lord.  Be brave and courageous, and never lose hope. Yes, keep on waiting for he will never disappoint you!

1. A Father is Called to Bring Identity and Purpose to His Children

Rom 12:2 Stop imitating the ideals and opinions of the culture around  you, but be inwardly transformed by the Holy Spirit through a total reformation of how you think. This will empower you to discern God’s will as you live a beautiful life, satisfying and perfect in his eyes.

● We can’t allow cultural norms to identify what a healthy father is
● Our role is to see their potential and shape them in the call of God
● God called us to reflect His character and nature to our families
● Our lives must model love, forgiveness, mercy, strength, courage, faith, generosity, obedience, submission, honor, loyalty, destiny, and model the vision of discipleship

Matt 3:17 And suddenly a voice came from heaven, saying, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”

2. A Father is Called to Break Curses and Bring Blessings Upon His House

Gen 12:1-3 Now the Lord had said to Abram “Get out of your country, from your family and from your father’s house, to a land that I will show you. I will make you a great nation; I will bless you and make your name great, and you shall be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you; And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”

Ps 27:10 When my father and my mother forsake me, Then the Lord will take care of me.

Mal 4:6 And he will turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, And the hearts of the children to their fathers, Lest I come and strike the earth with a curse.”

● If there is not a father in the family then let God become that and allow the fathers in God’s house become role models to your house
● This is why discipleship and spiritual training is so vital in this hour

1 Tim 1:18 This charge I commit to you, son Timothy,

2 Kings 2:12 And Elisha saw it, and he cried out, “My father, my father, the chariot of Israel and its horsemen!” So he saw him no more.

3. A Father is Called to be the Spiritual Leader in His Family

Gen 18:19 I’ve chosen him, so that he will direct his children and his household after him to keep the way of the Lord by doing what is right and just, so the Lord will bring about for Abraham what he promised.

● God called Abraham because he would train his children spiritually
● Our first disciples are the children the Lord has lent us

Deut 4:9 teach them to your children and to your grandchildren.

Eph 6:4 Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger by the way you treat them. Rather, bring them up with the discipline and instruction that comes from the Lord.

1 Tim 3:4 He should be a good leader in his own home. His children must obey and respect him.

Deut 6:5-11 you must love the Lord your God with all your heart and soul and with all your strength. Keep these words in your heart that I am telling you today. Do your best to teach them to your children. Talk about them when you sit in your house and when you walk on the road and when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as something special to see on your hand and on your forehead. Write them beside the door of your house and on your gates. “The Lord your God will bring you into the land He promised to your fathers, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, to give to you. There will be big and beautiful cities which you did not build. Houses will be full of good things which you did not fill.

1. The Father Loves Me and I Will Not Be Afraid

1 Jn 4:18 There’s no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, for fear brings torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love

Ps 118:6 The LORD is with me; I will not fear. What can man do to me?

Is 41:10 Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be afraid, for I am your God. I will strengthen you; I will surely help you; I will uphold you with My right hand of righteousness

2. There’s Confidence & Freedom from Fear in Fathers Love #Stronghold

Ps 27:1 The Lord is the strength of my life; Of whom shall I be afraid?

Prov 18:10 The name of the LORD is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe

● Strength - A place of refuge, safety, protection, shelter, stronghold
● I will place myself under this powerful protection

Ps 91:2 I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust”

Is 26:3 You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You.

Matt 6:31-32 Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows your needs

Phil 4:6-9 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

● The enemy will try to use worry and anxiety to control us
● Worry is a choking fear that steals people's ability to enjoy life
● Choke – suffocate, to smother, asphyxiate, to choke, to throttle
● Worry is how satan chokes the word of God out of our lives

Matt 13:22 Now he who received seed among the thorns is he who hears the word, and the cares of this world and the deceitfulness of riches choke the word, and he becomes unfruitful

2 Tim 3:1 understand this, that in the last days dangerous times [of great stress and trouble] will come [difficult days that will be hard to deal with]

Luke 21:34 But take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness, and cares of this life , and that day come on you unexpectedly

1 Pet 5:7-9 casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you. Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Resist him, steadfast in the faith

1. The Power of God in Jesus’ Earthly Ministry

Is 10:27 it shall come to pass in that day that his burden will be taken
away from your shoulder, And his yoke from your neck, And the yoke will
be destroyed because of the anointing oil

● Satan hates the anointing – because it destroys his works

Acts 10:38 how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and
with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were
oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him

Lk 4:18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because He hath anointed me
to preach the gospel to the poor; He hath sent me to heal the
brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of
sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised

2. Jesus Made the Same Explosive Power Available to Us

Acts 1:8 you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere in Jerusalem, Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth

● The purpose for the power is to save, heal and to set free

Mk 16:17-18 And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name
they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will
take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means
hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover

Matt 28:19 go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in
the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit

● The purpose of the power is to make disciples to carry on the vision
● If the early church knew they needed this power so do we

Acts 5:12, 15-16 through the hands of the apostles many signs and
wonders were done among the people. so that they brought the sick
out into the streets and laid them on beds and couches, that at least the
shadow of Peter passing by might fall on some of them. Also a multitude gathered from the surrounding cities, bringing sick people and those who were tormented by unclean spirits, and they were all healed

● In the Last Days Satan wants to separate God’s power from His church

2 Tim 3:5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof
from such turn away

1 Cor 2:4-5 my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of
man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power. That
your faith should not be in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God

3. Faith in the Power of God is the Key to it Manifesting

Heb 4:2 For indeed the gospel was preached to us as well as to them; but
the word which they heard did not profit them, not being mixed with
faith in those who heard it. (Without faith our gospel has no power)

● Faith is the fuse that ignites the dynamite explosive power of God

Lk 5:17-19, 24 men brought on a bed a man who was paralyzed, whom they sought to bring in and lay before Him. And when they could not find how they might bring him in, because of the crowd, they went up on the housetop and let him down with his bed through the tiling into the midst before Jesus. When He saw their faith, He said to the man who was paralyzed, “I say to you, arise, take up your bed, and go home”

● Power was available to all, but it was her faith that connected her

Lk 8:44-45, 48 But Jesus said,“who touched Me, for I felt power going out from Me.” And He said to her, “Daughter, be of good cheer; your faith has made you well. Go in peace.”
