Episode 34 w/ Special Guests: Gooding & Carter Hulsey..

Gooding & Carter Hulsey have a show at Beam Live in OKC on Wednesday June 12th, 2024.

I have known Gooding since the late 90's when i was working in College Radio. He is one of the most humble individuals i have ever met, yet he's also one of the most talented guitar players I've ever seen. He has written & recorded over 120 Full Length Records during his career & played over 2500 shows. Needless to say, He's paid his dues....  Click Here to see Gooding play 4 Guitars at Once!

    Gooding - Artist Bio

    GOODING

Gooding is an American musician and songwriter born in Detroit, MI, and later raised in Wichita, KS. Through his lived experiences, his music blends heartland rock, blues, and Latin with socially conscious lyrics that address issues such as poverty, addiction, and inequality. He is known for his “heart on his sleeve” live performances, touring relentlessly through 48 states, the UK, and Canada with well over 2,500 shows under his belt.

As a solo artist, he has written, recorded, produced, engineered, and mixed over 20 solo records and 120 additional records for his film/tv publishing company Kingdom 2, earning over 1,000 sync placements, making him one of the most prolific and most-licensed independent artists working today.

Gooding’s new album The Forgotten Plains was released on October 17, 2023. Gooding sings stories of his life growing up in the Great Plains throughout each song, expertly executing what fans have grown to love: skillful, thoughtful songwriting and genre-bending guitar work.

In addition to his music career, Gooding is known for his work in support of financial inclusion, using his platform to educate students about economic empowerment. He founded Funding The Future, a 501©(3) non-profit, and is currently making a documentary about his work with public schools around the United States and Canada. Funding The Future has reached over 275,000 students in 35 states.

    Carter Hulsey Artist Bio -

Carter Hulsey is an Americana singer-songwriter from Joplin, Missouri. Hulsey has played hundreds of shows all across the globe for the last decade. His concepts and narratives are inspired by storytellers such as Stephen King, Kurt Vonnegut, Jack Hit and David Sedaris with musical influence by Todd Snider, John Prine, Guy Clark, and Gillian Welch.
Hulsey's newest release "Haunt Me" out Feb. 24th blends his love for country roots and storytelling. This is Hulsey's first record done in Nashville and first time working with producer Gooding who captured Hulsey's sound in a new way with a tip of the hat to all the singer songwriters who have come before and inspired the two of them to be right where they are now: in Nashville, TN.

  • Brian Parton on The Jay Ramone Podcast

I have been a fan of Brian Parton since the late 90's when he was playing with his band Brian Parton & The Nashville Rebels. They were rockabilly at its finest. After the Nashville Rebels disbanded, Brian relocated to Colorado where he pursued his music endeavors as a singer-songwriter but his show was much more than that. I always felt like his solo acoustic shows were a lot like the old variety shows which included a little music & a little comedy as well. Brian is an incredible artist. He's playing an early show in the Plaza District in OKC tonight.
