Jeremy Kuzmarov—author, historian and managing editor of CovertAction Magazine—argues that the Rwandan genocide is a myth, suggesting instead that it was a civil war influenced by foreign interests, including the CIA, MI6, and Mossad, as well as various governments.

He points out that the Tutsi-led Rwandan Patriotic Front (RPF) was backed by the US and UK to gain control over the Congo's mineral wealth.
