Jesus is Real Radio with Daniel Fusco

God gives us a LOT of information in the book of Leviticus. If you’ve ever read through it, you’re familiar with the layers of details regarding worship and offerings, and how to specifically deal with the rituals related to them. It’s a lot of information, but as Pastor Daniel will remind us today, He gave it to us for a reason. Not just for Aaron, the priest we’ll hear about today…but for us. He tells us exactly what He wants us to do with our lives.

Sometimes God might ask you to do something crazy. He can do more than we can imagine, but those experiences are how we can truly understand His greatness. Today, Pastor Daniel will describe some of the offerings described in Leviticus, and the meticulous way that the priests were required to execute them. It wasn’t arbitrary. God has a reason for everything. Consider God’s requests of you, and how you can set aside your fear and step out in faith.

Your walk with the Lord is best done in community. Speaking about ‘personal faith’ is a popular idea…but there’s no accountability. We all have blind spots, and seeing your heart reflected against others is vital to our growth. As Pastor Daniel teaches today, there is support, modeling, and even disagreement in community. With communication and prayer, you have no choice but to constantly reflect and re-focus.

There are so many things in our lives that require self-sacrifice, because life with people is messy. That’s where our faith is really tested…being able to give to people and be built up again. Today, Pastor Daniel will explain that balance, and why we need both rest and work. We’ll hear about the life of the priests…the time spent with God prior to the work they would do. The waiting was vital to their ability to execute the sacrifices God required.

The priests took steps to purify and cleanse themselves and their offerings. It was all in order to please God…out of obedience and love. As Pastor Daniel said, we offer ourselves in the same way, because we are consecrated through the sacrifice of Jesus.

We heard about the children of Israel being told what God wanted them to do…and went for it. They may not have wanted to hear all of it, but just like God doesn’t always give us what we want, He knows what we need to grow in relationship with Him.

Pastor Daniel concluded this study by encouraging us not to think that it was strange for God to require all those sacrifices. He knows the right way to worship, and wants us to grow into living sacrifices, holy and acceptable to Him…living God’s way.

Sacrifices were a great symbol for the children of Israel, that God was the source of life…and we have the same reminder in the form of Jesus. Today, Pastor Daniel will show us where God put the focus as He gave each offering. Whether it was about holiness, atonement, or repentance…everything is brought together in Jesus. The restoration to the Father is the culmination of sacrifice…then comes healing and growth.

There is such a thing as burnout when it comes to putting all your efforts toward doing God’s will. He wants us to be on fire for Him, but if you’re really paying attention to God’s prompting, you’ll find that He wants you to rest in Him as well. Running yourself ragged is not fruitful. As Pastor Daniel teaches today about sacrifice, we’ll come to understand that God doesn’t measure the sweat of our labors, but looks for a servant’s heart.

As God clears out the mess of our lives, we have to jump into action as well. Acknowledging falsehoods requires that we make it right with the people involved. Though God forgives, sweeping our wrongs under the rug leaves the dirt in our lives.
