Disease left untreated can lead to serious problems. Little sins don’t tend to stay little when left untreated, either…they grow into entrenched habits and worse rebellion. As Pastor Daniel takes us through the steps described in Leviticus for treating leprosy, it may not seem like ancient remedies for skin conditions are relevant to us. As it turns out, God’s words are just as impactful today, and in Him we can be healed physically, and spiritually.

When you throw a stone into water, the disruption ripples out across the surface. Just like everything you do, impacts someone else. It’s a bitter pill to swallow, but as Pastor Daniel teaches today, we’ll find comfort in the truth that God wants everyone to be safe. This section of Leviticus, which addresses disease, describes a process of examination and treatment. Not only can it be applied physically, but spiritually as well.

When a woman is ready to give birth, there are a lot of steps taken to ensure that the environment will be clean and safe. Everything is done to make sure the mother and baby are healthy. As we’ll hear Pastor Daniel explain today, that’s what God intended when he laid out all the steps for birthing women. Whenever blood is involved, there is a cleansing, and as we’ll find, the promises he lays out for us are always for our good.

The words “blood”, “ritual”, and “sacrifice”…probably don’t register as positive, uplifting words for most of us. But, in this series about cleansing, those things have become commonplace. For us today, God’s instructions to the people of Israel may be difficult to relate to…but, as Pastor Daniel explains today, when Jesus came, those rituals changed. God’s heart is the same, though, and we’ll find continuity from then to now.

God was specific when he outlined in Leviticus what could and could not be eaten. So specific, that He even took into account carcasses and the germination of plants. For us today, we wouldn’t dream of eating something that had touched a dead carcass…God told the people to separate themselves from it. Pastor Daniel will teach us how our relationships with God today should still have that element of consecration…a setting apart of His children.

As a believer, you know that God has control of your life…but it doesn’t mean that it will be free of tribulation. Or, that your choices don’t matter. Today, as Pastor Daniel goes over the dietary laws given by God in Leviticus, we’ll hear very specific instructions about food. God desires for us to be vibrant and healthy…and our own choices play a part in that. The children of Israel followed God’s laws because they trusted His promises.

The job of the priests was to represent God to the people. That’s a heavy undertaking, but God didn’t leave his appointed men without detailed instructions about how to do it. As Pastor Daniel explains in this teaching, God doesn’t leave us without a plan, either. He desires for us to live intentional lives, clearly highlighting Jesus and His gospel. People need to see and hear the truth of Jesus coming from our hands, mouths, and hearts.
