While both safeties bring high-end playmaking abilities to the secondary, Minkah Fitzpatrick and Andre Cisco deploy distinctly different styles on the field. Fitzpatrick operates as a cerebral, chess-piece "free safety" communicator whose elite diagnostic skills, fluid positional versatility (capable of starring as a single-high eraser, nickel corner, or box defender), and disciplined field vision allow him to consistently jump route concepts and erase deep coverage breakdowns before they happen. Cisco, by contrast, plays with an aggressive, ball-hawking, physical dynamic—thriving as an instinctual center fielder who relies on raw range, explosive downhill trigger speed, and high-risk/high-reward jump timing to create turnover chaos and deliver bone-crushing hits in the open field. While Fitzpatrick excels through disciplined pre-snap alignment and surgical anticipation, Cisco impacts the game through high-octane aggression and dynamic range.

Why the Jets Need to Put Andre Cisco Back in the Starting Lineup
By Marty Schupak
When the New York Jets brought in Minkah Fitzpatrick, the move was widely praised as a veteran boost for a safety room in desperate need of takeaways. But five weeks into the season—and coming off a muddy 17–12 victory over Cleveland—it is time for head coach Aaron Glenn to …
Jets 17, Browns 12: Game Summary & Key Takeaways
The New York Jets (2-3) snapped a three-game losing streak with a gritty, rain-soaked 17-12 home victory over the Cleveland Browns (3-2) at MetLife Stadium.
Key Game Highlights
* Fast Start: On their opening possession, Geno Smith connected with Garrett Wilson for a 32-yard touchdown pass to cap an efficient 80-yard drive.
* Turning Point: Trailing 12-10 late in the fourth quarter after a Browns touchdown and a Jets fumble, New York capitalized on special teams. A high snap slipped through Cleveland punter Corey Bojorquez’s hands in the heavy rain, which Trevin Wallace recovered for the Jets deep in Browns territory.
* Game-Winning Play: Three plays later, Braelon Allen broke free for a 22-yard touchdown run with 3:01 remaining to regain the lead.
* Defensive Lockdown: The Jets’ defense racked up 8 total sacks on Deshaun Watson, led by rookie David Bailey’s 3 sacks. On Cleveland’s final drive, Will McDonald sealed the win with a fourth-down strip-sack and fumble recovery with 1:41 remaining.
Top Individual Performances
* Braelon Allen (RB, NYJ): 24 carries for 116 rushing yards and the game-winning 22-yard TD.
* Garrett Wilson (WR, NYJ): 7 receptions for 104 receiving yards and a TD.
* Geno Smith (QB, NYJ): 17-of-30 passing for 182 yards, 1 TD, and 0 INTs.
* David Bailey (LB, NYJ): 3 of New York’s 8 total sacks on defense.
Post-Game Quotes & Reaction
* Demario Davis called the win a major emotional benchmark for the franchise: “I would go as far as to say this was a historic win for this organization... You’re talking about a team that had lost the last three games and when you’re going through that type of adversity, it can weigh on you.”
* Coach Aaron Glenn praised the squad’s resilience: “A good team win. Every part had some bright moments.”
Injury Report
* Jets: TE Kenyon Sadiq entered concussion protocol following a third-quarter fumble.
* Browns: WR KC Concepcion left early following a high hit and is in concussion protocol. RB Raheim Sanders (hip) and RT Tytus Howard (knee) left in the fourth quarter.
Up Next
* New York Jets: Head on the road to face the New England Patriots next Sunday.
* Cleveland Browns: Return home to host the Baltimore Ravens next Sunday.

Marty says the Jets shouldn’t fire Glenn during the season. He talks about another team that went 1-5, then ran off 9 of 11 and made the playoffs!
In a frustrating 23–12 road loss to the Chicago Bears, the Jets (1–3) struggled to find any offensive traction, holding the ball for under 18 minutes and managing just seven first downs and 157 total yards. Bears running back Kyle Monangai gashed Gang Green for 146 yards and two touchdowns on the ground, while backup quarterback Tyson Bagent threw for 268 yards to keep New York’s defense on the field for over 42 minutes. The lone defensive highlight arrived in the second quarter when safety Minkah Fitzpatrick snapped the Jets' NFL-record 20-game interception drought by picking off Bagent—though penalties painfully negated three additional New York interceptions throughout the game. Geno Smith provided a brief fourth-quarter spark with a 58-yard touchdown bomb to Isaiah Williams to make it 23–12, but a missed extra point by Jason Sanders followed by a backbreaking, clock-bleeding 18-play, 77-yard drive by Chicago sealed the Jets' third consecutive defeat.
Marty is predicting the Jets will get their first interception in a long time today!
Might be overreacting, but through three games, Austin McNamara doesn't look like the elite punter he was last year. Definitely something to keep an eye on!
