It's time for southern hockey in the south of Florida. These Cats are not so fancy anymore, but they have a new coach and a new goaltender and a whole lot of talent. Perhaps the Maple Leafs of the South, there's a lot more to the Florida Panthers than it seems on the surface. While some names like Frank Vatrano and Noel Acciari are maybe not so familiar, most fans probably recognize superstar talents Aleksander Barkov and Jonathan Huberdeau as well Aaron Ekblad and Keith Yandle holding down the blue line.
These cats are fast and agile, but sometimes their defense leaves a lot to be desired. Litterbox Cats Managing Editor Todd joins me to discuss these frisky felines.

Kelly Hinkle from Broad Street Hockey joins Crown Conversations to discuss the Philadelphia Flyers, Mike Richards' career (kinda), and what to expect from this team that's still sort of growing into their identity. Plus, we discuss the Trevor Lewises (unsung heroes) of both teams and give our final score predictions.

The holidays are here! Christmas and Hanukkah and New Year's are right around the corner. Sarah and I recap the road trip, talk about the Reign, and wish everyone happy holidays. Then, I talk about the St. Louis Blues, who are first in the west and don't be seem to be experiencing any kind of Stanley Cup hangover effects (damn them!)

The Columbus Blue Jackets made a splash during last season’s trade deadline season as they loaded up for a shot at glory in the playoffs. While things didn’t pan out quite as they had hoped, the Jackets eeked into the postseason and made history with their first round sweep over what many presumed would be the dominant and superior Tampa Bay Lightning. The Jackets don’t have any of their rentals from last season and may have lost Artemi Panarin and Sergei Bobrovsky to unrestricted free agency, but they’re still finding ways to win. John Tortorella’s teams never lack a work ethic and that blue collar attitude has been paying off for them.
Managing Editor Pale Dragon joins Crown Conversations to talk all things Jackets and the outlook for the future.

They have a Jesus (kind of); we have a Jesus (albeit, a bit raccoon-y); they have a rat, we have a, er, Brown. When the Kings were built, they weren't wholly different from the Bruins. But things have changed quite a bit for both teams over the last decade and despite having three amazing, prolific scorers on their top line, the team tends to run rather hot or cold every few weeks. Here's a preview of what to expect.

I am joined by Pensburgh's Garrett Behanna to discuss the Pittsburgh Penguins, their red-hot goaltender, and the plight of poor Jack Johnson. Plus, why did the Alex Galchenyuk experiment fail and is Jake Guentzel for real?

Well it took until the nearly December, but the Kings are finally facing off against their biggest rival -- the San Jose Sharks. The Sharks have had an up and down season so far as both goaltenders have struggled in net and their power play has been streaky at best. After losing some key players over the summer to free agency, the Sharks have become a two-line team, but seem to be making the best of it. Sheng Peng, now with Fear the Fin, joins me to preview the Sharks @ Kings.

Punmseiter and dad-joke extraordinaire JJ From Kansas from Winging it in Motown joins me to discuss the Red Wings at Kings. The Wings have a rather young roster, a new general manager, and are on a three game winning streak. But, these two teams have a pretty similar record and face a lot of the same issues that plague the on-ice performances up and down the lineup. Which teams will show up and who will win? Find out in this short podcast!

Joining me on this special edition of Crown Conversations is Scott Matla, writer and podcaster for Habs Eyes on the Prize. We talk about how swole Marc Bergevin has become, Carey Price continuing his reign as a perpetual Vezina Trophy candidate, plus, former Kings Nate Thompson, Jordan Weal, and Nate Thompson. We also discuss whether or not Max Domi will be able to goad Drew Doughty into doing something stupid (which, the likelihood seems pretty high if Brady Tkachuk and Matthew Tkachuk are indication).
