Severe weather risks begin to appear around the Western Great Lakes and Upper Mississippi Valley today and across the Southern Plains and Lower Mississippi Valley Friday into Sunday. Colder weather returns to the Northeast and Mid Atlantic over the weekend.

Across the south two waves will bring some rain mid and late week. Long range we could see some early spring warmth arrive next week in the East.
