Joey went down a rabbit hole yesterday about getting a sunburn or tan in the winter. He didn’t realize that the UV rays could still be strong when it’s not hot outside. Karly pointed out that he always says to be careful on cool summer days because you can still get burnt... He denied this. 

Nancy went to a networking event and had to do icebreakers to get to know people. Usually they are boring, but this one was fun! She and her table had to make a playlist of songs that described them. Nancy recommended a Jelly Roll song, and it led to her talking about how her 87-year-old dad has started getting tattoos.  

Hot Tea: A documentary about Lainey Wilson is coming soon to Netflix. The highest streamed show of 2025 was Bluey. Kendall Jenner called Tom Brady while on the Jimmy Fallon Show to talk about The Super Bowl.  

Joey’s wife loves to take freebies from hotels. Recently, she really liked the shampoo in the bathroom, but it was attached to the wall. Her solution was to pump a bunch of it into a coffee cup and take that home with her.  

A Cincinnati snowplow driver escorted an ambulance through a snowstorm to help a sick baby get to the hospital.

TDOT spent over $2 MILLION dollars to treat the roads with brine and salt ahead of last weekend’s winter weather. Apparently, we may be getting snow this weekend. Joey wished he would’ve known that before he canceled his electric snow shovel order.  

Weird stories out of Oregon! 1- Two women in a small town organized a nude calendar to help raise money for a town snowplow. All of the models were older people, and their private areas were concealed by props. So, the calendar is not X-rated—it's actually pretty funny! 2- Columbias, the outdoor brand, has partnered with an Oregon brewery to make bear poop infused beer.

Nancy is annoyed that Joey gives her crap for trying new things but doesn’t do that to Karly. Karly signed up for a Jui Jitsu class as a “side quest,” and Joey has said nothing. But he judged Nancy for things like being obsessed with a blender. 

NASA is sending 4 astronauts to the moon on a 10-day orbit mission! Karly is nerding out over it, but Nancy says it would be boring.  

Hot Tea: Bill Belichick was NOT inducted into the football hall of fame, and people think he was snubbed. Bruce Willis’ wife says Bruce doesn’t know he has dementia, and she is glad. Rhode Island is considering discontinuing their Mr. Potato Head themed charity license plate because the Hasbro headquarters is moving to another state.  

Karly is worried that she is getting addicted to nose spray. She has been using decongestant nose spray for her sinuses for six days now. You aren’t supposed to use it more than 4 days in a row because it can make you addicted or dependent on it. Lots of people called and texted either in the same boat as Karly or telling her to stop and use an alternative.

Joey is butthurt because he can no longer see his brother Jesse’s location. We called Jesse to talk about it. It turns out that Joey has been stalking Jesse and randomly texting him about where he is. Example: “how’s you walk at the park?” and “Why are you sitting in your driveway?” 

The two Superbowl teams are refusing to practice at the 49er’s facilities because of a big conspiracy theory. The theory is that a substation near the facilities is causing injuries because of electromagnetism?

Joey wondered if his knees hurt because it’s cold or because he’s old. It was only 8 degrees this morning! Yesterday, Nancy saw a coyote chasing a skunk down her iced-over road. She thinks it was a redneck omen of sorts. 

A guy in Canada opened a museum full of people’s failures. Pieces included a divorced woman’s wedding dress, someone’s dead plant, and more. We joked about some of Nancy’s failures, such as her kid’s cussing, her blender obsession, and one of her businesses. Nancy then poked at Joey’s “helicopter parenting.” Joey came back and made fun of her baby talk voice she uses with her grandson.  

Nancy’s dad keeps having to go to his friends’ funerals. At what age does this become normal? 

Hot Tea: Morgan Wallen, HARDY, Tim McGraw, and Eric Church put up similar cryptic posts on their social media pages. What does it mean? People think the NFL rigged the Super Bowl due to a post from back in September that had the two teams’ quarterbacks in the front of the image. A man stole a full-sized harp, took his clothes off, jumped in a river, and had to be rescued before he was arrested.  

We all watched Alex Honnold climb Taipei 101, the skyscraper over the weekend. It made Joey’s palms sweat. Joey showed Nancy some other dangerous stunt videos to get her reaction.  

Joey’s 9-year-old keeps sneezing really loud, and he thinks that he learned it from his mom. Joey keeps trying to make him sneeze at least a little quieter. Karly says that sneezing sounds are learned, and people that speak other languages don’t say “achoo” when sneezing.

The weather over the weekend was not as bad as expected, but people don’t need to be hating on the meteorologists! Joey was most upset that his electric snow shovel didn’t come in the mail.

Once again, what is going on with the weather? We want it to snow enough to get kids out of school, but not enough to shut off everyone’s power.

Hot Tea: Ernest said that artists not in the country industry who decide to make a country album need to embrace the culture and not try to force feed it to people.  LeAnn Rimes had a $10k blood cleaning treatment. A criminal is on the run after attaching his ankle monitor to a dog.  

A lot of grocery store shelves are empty because of the storm panic! Why does everyone buy out the milk and bread? A woman who moved her from Michigan called and was very judgmental of East Tennesseans’ panic about winter weather. We let people call to debate her—most told her to go back to Michigan.  

We talked about the weather with Sydney Sullivan from WVLT. She explained what the forecast is currently looking like... ICE! 

Nancy caught her 13-year-old in the middle of a scheme with his friends. They wanted to walk from a friend's house to a grocery store... across a 4-lane highway with no crosswalk. Each friend claimed that other moms had said it was okay, when that was NOT the case. Nancy and the other moms figure out their plans.

Nancy’s dad forgot to pick up her son Ben from school yesterday. Ben tried calling Nancy from a school phone, but her phone was marking the call as spam. He was eventually picked up 45 minutes late. Joey was also late picking up one of his kids yesterday and felt bad about it.  

More weather talk! What is it going to do this weekend? Based on the grocery store shelves, people think it’s going to be snow-mageddon.  

Hot Tea: The photo of William Shatner eating cereal while driving was actually from a Super Bowl commercial shoot. A woman in Knoxville paid a guy to paint her car, but he had it crushed at an impound lot instead. A guy on a Delta flight got drenched in de-ice fluid. 

We played Laughing Our Passes Off for Nate Bargatze tickets. Whoever made us laugh the hardest won.  

Nancy went to a luncheon yesterday and met the guy from Joey’s church that called him fat a few weeks ago. He said he didn’t feel bad about saying it because he’s old, 

We talked about the weather with Sydney Sullivan from WVLT. She says to expect more ice than snow, and that travel on Monday and Tuesday will probably be bad. 

Joey created jingles for three local businesses: Spellabrate Signs, Ham N Goody’s, and Wilburn’s Hardware.  

Group Therapy: I Accidentally “Replied All” to My Bosses Email and Called Him a Name. 

A Goodwill in Arizona had to be evacuated because someone donated a novelty grenade.

Joey was self-conscious at home yesterday because people were working in his crawlsapce. He didn’t want to bother them by being loud.  

Nancy thought a tattoo, oddities, and antiquities store in Townsend was an antiques store. She found out that they are VERY different. The store had witch-y things in it and she was freaked out.  

Hot Tea: Megan Moroney warned her ex that she would write songs about him. Luke Combs wants to do a free tour at small college bars. Morgan Wallen donated thousands of dollars to West High School to get new instruments for their orchestra program.   

William Shatner was spotted eating cereal while driving. We asked, “What’s the craziest thing you’ve seen someone do while driving?” Answers included reading a book, reading a newspaper, watching a movie, putting on makeup, and more.

A woman on TikTok made a jingle for Dr Pepper, and the brand used it in a commercial during the College Football National Championship game. We revisited the jingles Joey made for local businesses a while back, and we took requests for more jingle.
