Hi, I'm John Harrington and we're going to break out and break down the wide variety of equipment we use to deliver images to our clients. Next we are going to show you one of the equipment kits we use when we are traveling on assignment. Each kit is different and has a very specific purpose. So lets take a look.

This is our Hasselblad kit. Gotta blow a little dust off the Hasselblad kit, we haven't used the Hasselblad in a long time.

In our Hasselblad though and something I haven't gotten to the point where I can part with yet, our SWC/M allows us to shoot architectural work. An original 500 CM with a handgrip on it. Battery still works, still takes the picture.

2 Polaroid backs, redundancy on the Polaroid backs. This is our 500 ELM with the old school waist level viewfinder. Several A12/A24 backs, 1 2 3. We have an 80mm/F2.8 T Star. One of my favorite lenses, the 30mm/F3.5 fisheye, a 120mm/F4, extension tube, an old back.

You can see that ones definitely been used a lot. And that's what remains of our Hasselblad kit. Like I said, a little bit dusty, we haven't used the Hasselblad in a while.

So, we travel with 2. Redundancy of course is important. We have a fog machine here, a fog machine here. Our fog machine is controlled by this on/off switch, which allows you to turn the fog off and on.

It's a pretty straightforward piece of equipment but when you're trying to add just a little extra to a shoot the fog machine can make a difference.

Sometimes an assignment calls for us to take our post-production systems on the road. We pack up the CPU's and monitors and we pack up redundancies. While we have several machines in our offices, when we're on the road its gotta work, if it doesn't we have to have a back up on hand. Whether we're across town or in another time zone.

Here's a kit that packs a G5 It's kind of heavy but it's got to go. In it, the G5 packs safely, its rigid and protects the G5 from point A to point B. This is a Versa flex case. A separate case packs the monitor. Also inside, the mouse and the keyboard and any other wires and Cat5 cabling we might need. Here a 20-inch flat panel, which is much easier to travel with, then a CRT monitor which is much heavier and bulkier. This also is a Versa flex case.

Separately we travel with a 20-inch iMAC. The keyboard and mouse also store in the iMAC case. Cat5 cabling if necessary is in here as well. The keyboard and mouse, the monitor packs in here. This is also a Versa flex case.

We use a wide variety of cases to store our equipment safely, so they travel from point A to point B. Whether as we said earlier it's a load and go day trip or we're going overseas.

We really like the Versa- Flex cases; from the small cases to the medium cases, large and then the extra long cases that we put our stands and our soft boxes in. We just think the Versa- Flex cases do the job the best. There are other cases that we have; we do have some Tamracs. They are typically the older bags that we have had for some time, kind of legacy bags.

We have some newer Kata bags. And a really great case that we think really highly of is the ThinkTank line of cases; they really do the best job for carryon, bar none. They are designed by photographers, for photographers, and nothing was spared in making them the best. So that's a little bit about the cases that we use, hopefully you got a little bit of insight there into how we use them and why we use them.

We prefer the Versa- Flex and the ThinkTank over some of the harder cases, like the Pelicans that we do have and have had more as a legacy case more than anything else. The Pelicans weigh a lot more than the Versa- Flex cases and tend to eat up some of that weight allowance that we have when we're traveling. We do use them when we're in the water and other really heavy-duty industrial situations, but those situations are few and far between relative to the things we do everyday.
